I ordered about 19 hours ago, right after someone posted on this forum, i.e. about when there were 82 left. No adjustment as of yet, but I am still confident something will be left over. lol.

People always show up here worrying they aren't going to get their adjustments, they always get them. People need to realize Lee is doing this all by himself! There's only so much one guy can do. But, he's never once left anyone un-adjusted. If that makes you feel any better.

I remember randomly stumbling upon the VE Zen review somewhere on Head-Fi some time ago and I just spent the last hour trying to remember the company and product name. Definitely going to give these a shot after reading all the enthusiasm for them here!

Got my Monks in the mail yesterday... Went to IKEA with the wife and tested them out on the way there

Unbelievably disappointed. Sounded hollow, no bass whatsoever and just overall meh.

Got back home, plugged em into my xduoo x2 - HOLY MOLY AMAZEBALLS! THESE EARBUDS ROCK MANNNNNNN!!!! Stupid me trying to test the Monks with my smartphone.. These babies need some juice to shine!

Now I gotta save up for some Zens!!!! Damn!

There's one part of the specs I don't get. It's the maximum power handling capability.
Really 1000mW ?
That's roughly 142dB

 
Could someone explain how is that achieved, because it sort of doesn't make sense to me. AKG's DKK32 32mm transducer handles 200mW, DT880 transducer could handle 100mW, but runs out of excursion at 20mW@50Hz. How come driver physically smaller with obviously smaller coil could handle such power? What's more, how come the membrane doesn't run of excursion first, considering the surface area is smaller.
