Yeah, same thing happened to my pair but I took the cheap and easy way out by ordering a headband cover from Amazon.

I haven't used these for a few years and upon inspection have found that the pleather on the ear pads and the headband has completely deteriorated. For the ear pads, ordered replacement 90mm round pads, but wasn't able to find anything satisfactory for the headband.
After rubbing away pleather flakes and glue from the headband, the foam and fabric underneath seemed fine, so I decided to try my luck with some DIY. Had a scrap piece of soft leather, salvaged from somewhere, lying around. Googled some videos for ideas and found the method people use for putting leather covers on steering wheels. Took a while to finish, but here are the results:

Close up not exactly perfect, but came out nice overall.
Really great work.

The replacement 90mm earpads have arrived. They turned out to be an almost perfect fit for the mounting rings from the original earpads. They are not snug on the rings, so they are easy to put on, but when assembled don't feel or look too loose. 85mm would probably be a more precise fit, 80mm would work too, I think, but might be a bit hard to put on.

In terms of quality, they are quite nice. Hard to tell if it's real leather, or whether all of it is leather if it is, but the material quality is definitely a lot better than average pleather earpads.

Can't compare them to the original, but I think they are a bit stiffer but still soft. Together with the larger size, this makes them way more comfortable for me compared to the original, because I remember having trouble with ceramic tweeters poking my ears.

I've got both but I haven't done an A/B yet. Not sure if this says anything but I haven't had the FT1 off my head since getting them.
After 4 years since my 1more silver broke, i am rebuying gold version just for wall of fame reasons, found for some 85$ , i think i paid less for silver one, 'cause of 'refurbished', but gold is new :) , very interested to try ft1 too, too many good feedbacks about them lately! Would you be able a\b them with electronic music, jazz, rock, some games, if gaming any?

I have both silver and gold, I picked up the 'used' gold (immaculate, barely worn) for £40 a few months back which came with a few extra cables etc. I did A/B those and preferred the silver.

Just on a trip until Tuesday, I'll get back to you at some point next week!

I did an AB on the gold and silver versions and I think I posted it here some years back. The differences are quite distinct with the gold being rougher especially with sibilance with the silver being more refined and smoother yet engaging and very revealing.

Golden 1more h1707 arrived from Japan in 6-7 days! Damn quick, and sound is like what i remember from the past with Silver h1707, although my memory not the best, but from it i cannot tell difference between Graphene layered vs Titanium layered driver. But way different sound than anything else i have. What i didn't have 4 years ago - Fiio K DACs, they seem to control a titanium version very well, i don't think whatever i had 4 years ago controlled the graphene version as good, even bass is nicer, hitting hard on K5 pro/K7 from my memory, insanely good in the dramatic moments in heavy metal songs, maybe for more $ there is better bass, but 1more bass is tasty :)

Yeah, didn't take more than 4 weeks, gold version earpads tearing apart from the inside, didn't waste time and replaced them with 1more spearhead 1005 1006 h1707 compatible soft pads, lol
