I was considering breaking out the screwdriver as my gut feeling is that it is the glass. If it is from the cup, it can be the glass being a bit loose and hitting the metal "rim". You can put a little bit of foam between them or tape. In my case, just tightening the screws fixed this. Later in my experimentation, I replaced the glass with a thing PC gaming mouse pad I cut in circles (2 layers did the trick) but that is another story...

Definitely the glass, packed it with some tissue to test and the noise was gone. Have the required torx on the way to do it properly.

Strange the glass on mine is glued on rim... some sticky glue...no hard one..no play there even if you try to force it out will not move I think you need some force to break it loose

anybody know if there is a solid fullproof fix for the glass issue? seeing as I can probably only get these for $100 used I don't want them to be a pain in the butt.... Might just stick with my Anker Q30 as my DD closed back tho as they are pretty damn good

if the glass is moving is no problem, really easy to fix as "tussinette" already told...

I sat and watched closely the bass reflector...played loud bass heavy songs but I could not see even a slight movement of the reflector...this is normal?

I searched this thread for "balanced" and got more than a few hits. Here's one:
I then ordered a balanced cable (any balanced cable made for the hifiman HE400S, 400i, 560 etc will be fine)..

Just got this.
And it is definitely the LZ A6/mini (somewhere in between the A6 mini and the A6 in terms of timbre and uniqueness) of the headphone world.
