Most likely- nobody knows, unless anyone here got to go to NAMM. Your best bet is to ask joker. He got to hear both of them, although unfortunately his V8 adel module broke and he had to send it in to be fixed.

i guess ill risk it,they seemed convinced it'll beat anything out there on the web talk

Oh yes im a backer but reading about V8 seems exactly what i want in sound presentation.
I'm sure A12 will be stunning tho

Will prob go for "boring" red.
Other ideas?

The red looks pretty nice! It's on their homepage :)

I recommend to make full use of their free custom options. That includes premium faceplates and artwork.

I didn't choose fancy artwork though since i chose wood faceplates which i wanted to be on full display
Left -> Wenge wood faceplates + translucent olive
Right -> Ash wood faceplates + translucent olive + my small initials tilted at the side.

Fill in your shipping and billing address then just checkout.
You won't have to pay anything.

btw the V8 will be bassier than A12, that was confirmed by 1964 themselves. But A12 is not flat. Flat would be A10 or U5. They discontinued the V6 though.

guess you cant get soft canals with these?
Is it better?
A12 should be as good a bass as K10 i hope..

What happened to red?? :p Talking about bass, I'm in love with the bass of another CIEM I heard recently... but that's OT :)

This is completely OT... But I'm a fan of the Shure SE846 type of bass, and the Lear LCM BD4.2 is the only other phone I've heard that comes close. Fast, clean, taut bass with good reverb underneath. Amazing!

Anyway back to the 1964, this is what I got. Lacking in originality, I know, but I've been sold since the moment I saw pictures of the pair at NAMM!

Ooh no premium plates? I wanted to milk as much I can out of the deal. The wood and carbon cost $100 and artwork another $60 or something.
Of course they had to look great as well or I wouldn't have chosen them :)

I chose recessed since it was already pre-set from the start (although you can unclick it). I emailed them if it was compulsory, if not I'd go for non recessed.

I'm just worried that recessed may not fit aftermarket cables...
