If they were still selling the '03 model I'd totally do it.

Dude, at this price you should go for it on Amazon. Why try to save $20 or $25 and have to deal with my head lice?

Eh, don't worry about it, I'll probably end up getting a pair as well.

I want them, I need them, I can almost afford them, but I need to wait, or do I...damn! Such a dilemma. So many headphones and a burning desire to own them all.

Great price on Amazon. I am tempted, but will not succomb.

What is so magical about the 2003 model?

dt880s are a league above the 595's.

I am pondering getting these for a third time. I have some kind of awful love hate relationship with these cans. I tend to hate them when I own them. But a month or so after selling them I start to think that I am missing out on something and I start drawing hearts with "Cipher + DT880" inside of them. What else explains why I was searching for a headphone that I have already owned twice?

really close to purchasing these cans, but I need to know!! Will this receiver be able to properly power the 880s? Amazon.com: Yamaha HTR-6140BL 525 Watt 5.1-Channel Home Theater Receiver: Electronics

If not this receiver, can anyone suggest the cheapest receiver which will work almost as well as a dedicated headphone amp? Trying to hit two birds with one stone here. Thanks!

That is a very loaded question. What do you need this component to do? Chances are you won't get a great headphone amp from a receiver, so you have to establish some priorities.

I just ordered these on impulse despite having more headphones than I probably have time to listen to

Thanks for the heads up.
