That's not the point. Not to be an elitist, but the dissatisfaction could just stem from lack of experience, on what you're hearing, what you hear, of what you thought you were going to hear. Again, you're trying to beat the system, but that's just not the ******* point.

I want to say generational gap but we're the same age.

Isn't the whole point of audio to get closer to an "ideal" sound. And sometimes these ideals are impossible to recreate.

Well anyways, now that I have these CIEMs in my hands, I can only go through the system backwards. Start from my upper budget limit and somehow demo the rest. Your method of reselling will never work for me. I've never been able to resell anything for more than 70-80% of its price, a situation that I understand because even I wouldn't pay that much for something used no matter how good of a condition it is in. I would continually lose money with that method.

So to save money, all I can do is purchase something close to the ideal (which I infer from reviews) and then work backwards to verify and appreciate what I currently own.

It was....... decades ago.

Now we're archived it, but audiophiles refuse to believe it.

If you ever get the opportunity, take part in a local meet. It's a great way to demo a lot of headphones.

Just a question to some of you that have an acc on animelist, do you or have you given ratings or written reviews for manga/anime that you have gone through? Just made an acc for the sake of tracking what I've completed/going-to read or watched/going to watch.

YES!

Virginia Tech is offering me a $6,000 scholarship  and who knows how much Financial Aid.

University of Connecticut also accepted me :)

Not really the big colleges I want, BUT YAY!

I already know i was going to get into those..but getting the letters is still exciting!

Nice going dude.

You guys in the US are so lucky getting accepted early. Here in Canada (at least UBC, UofT, Mcgill) you don't get confirmation until April at the earliest for regular admission.

I didn't get confirmation until December, at which point they're like: Here's a big folder filled with a bunch of little booklets regarding student associations. O.o

Then again, in the Netherlands you get unconditional acceptance as long as you pass high school exams. This is only for universities. For some private (university) colleges you might have some difficulty getting in. And also if you're studying (veterinary) medicine you have to pass a central selection round because of too many people applying.

Nice, and congrats! :)

Speaking of college, I'm working on an honours project and I'm supposed to build a dreieckspannungs generator (triangular voltage generator). It's pretty neat actually since it produces a triangular voltage wave without giving it an input signal.

No need to translate the German, I understand you fine just like that. :p

I thought of joining the Physics Honours program at my uni, but then I realized I had to do more experimental physics and I lost interest.
I'm disliking physics in general compared to mathematics, and I hate the practical part even more.

That's it, blocking every kpop gif.

Butthurt?

Lucky. I qualify for no financial help at all. The universities here don't give out scholarships either.
UK doesn't do things the same, you get confirmation of admittance a couple months before final exams, if you're an outstanding student or you applies somewhere schiit then you get an unconditional offer, so your final grades have no bearing on if you have a place or not, it's guaranteed. For most, the offer is based on you hitting given entry grades and you'll know if you get in when results come out in August.

You're allowed one firm university choice and one backup.

Don't you get financial aid from the government in the UK as well? At last in the Netherlands you receive anywhere between €100 and €350 monthly depending on your financial situation, and you can take zero-interest-rate student loans up to €10,000 per year as well. On top of all that you also get to use public transport for free.
All of that, and perhaps a small part-time job, should be more than enough to pay housing, food, insurance and tuition fees. (especially since tuition is about €1800/year.)

Which is exactly why I'm fine right where I am.
I may decide to do a Master's degree in a foreign uni, but probably not. It's so much cheaper right here in the Netherlands, and my university is actually in the worldwide top 100, so it's not bad either (at all).

7eps into evangelion....
It's moving along pretty slowly, nothing much happening or explained.
MC is pretty unlikable so far.
Wonders why so many people like it.
I hope it's like steins;gate where I'll suddenly go "OMG THIS IS THE BEST SHOW EVERRRRR" half way through.

Nobody likes the MC, and you're not supposed to either.
It was pretty much my first anime I ever watched, so shut your mouth and just watch it. And do not dare skipping the OP's and ED's; they are both nothing short of majestic.

Anybody have a suggestion for mecha anime that's not all about OMG super overpowered BS mecha? Kind of like how Char's MS is just a Zaku (?) Ace custom or how Zech's MS is just an earlier prototype of the Leo (which is a real prototype, not the BS "prototype" OP PoS that most Gundams are). Can be non-Gundam.

tl;dr, mecha heavy show that doesn't have OP BS.

Such a thing does not exist.

Actually cannot think of any mecha anime like that... Maybe 08th Mobile Suit Team. All the main characters do use mass production models in it from memory.

I noticed that no matter how "good" the soundstage of an IEM is, it can't ever beat the vastness of a mid-fi's soundstage. I'm told that the C4s have a larger stage than the Tg334s!, so I'd imagine it is somewhat up there...but this thing doesn't even touch past M100 depth. I guess this is somewhat of a learning experience. At least I do get the added benefit of an isolation headphones could never provide.

Boris says this is the same thing with speakers vs headphones. Oh boy~

LOL. Should have expected that though. I don't mind the soundstage being too wide. As long as it's accurate and the spaces between the players are there, I'm sold. For example, I'd take my T50RP over my AD700 just because it's more accurate
