LFF Paradox Slant and the "Starving Student"
Recently, I purchased the very first "Starving Student" edition Paradox Slant. Since receiving it, I've spent a significant time listening to it and I'm starting to get a grasp of what this headphone really is. LFF describes the Paradox Slant as a "classic" Paradox with a slight bass boost...- C.C.S.

What are semi-open headphones?
Could somebody please explain what semi-open headphones are? I understand that open means they leak sound or you can hear outside sounds while listening, and closed means they shut off sound and leaks. So what does semi-open headphones mean and can you give some examples of semi-open headphones?- bobran

I'm new at all this and not a sophisticated audiophile...
...but I have audiophile aspirations. I would like to find a full sized headphone amp that would be able to drive the HE 6 and the Etymotic ER 4S. I would be buying for the future, since I have neither of these phones. I'm looking for a neutral amp. I'm not looking for pleasing coloration...- glorkaglickflic

[Review] Mr. Speakers Mad Dogs, a hard to beat closed option

Review: ZMF Modified Fostex T50RP. Superb!
I've gained so much from Head-Fi that I figure I'll give back a bit with a review. About two months ago, I was in the Orient where I spent a few days at headphone pro shops testing out various headphones. It was very illuminating. On the upper end, I tested the top end of the likes of the...- ULUL

David Clark ear seals on a Fostex T50RP, Suggestions Please?
How do you think these ear pads would work for woodied T50RP's? Beyer gel pads are known to work well. But those aren't available anywhere! Does anybody have any experience with these pads? And will the ear pad material(black plasticky stuff) affect the SQ? Wise men of Head-fi, please let me...- rabib91

Fostex T50RP replacement cable
I'd like to replace the stock cable on my Fostex T50RP. There is absolutely nothing wrong with them, and I do not think I'll "gain" any sonic improvements. My desire to replace them is purely aesthetics. I don't like the look of the thin cable nor the 1/4 inch connector. Is...- Liver

Aftermarket Cables for Fostex T50RP?
I am currently testing a couple of pairs of modified Foxtex T50RP. I was not expecting much but these two blew me away and I would not feel a loss if all I had were these and did not have my other cans which cost many times more. I am curious if any of you replaced the stock cables with...- ULUL

Ok, so I think I've decided I'd like to purchase a pair of Paradox headphones from LFF. first timer in need of guidance
So I developed a passion for listening to high quality music. My current headphone is the Sennheiser HD555. I play all of my music out of my computer so at the moment I use a 6.3mm to 3.5mm adaptor I believe to plug it into my PC (am i losing quality?). Any music I download is strictly WAV...- strreamix

Hello, I'm still relatively new to the community, as evidenced by my postcount. A cheap stereo receiver to drive Fostex T50RP, no added color (will be using for producing)?
So Ive narrowed down my choices for a set of neutral music production/studio headphones to the AKG 240 and the Fostex T50. If I decide to run unamped, I would go with the AKG 240. If I decide to get an amp, I would go for the T50, which can be had at a fraction of what they are really worth (or...- DerangedGoose
