Ibasso Dx100 bugs to fix or features to add : Please tell us what you want to fix or add

Not sure if this has been added yet but I want the Directory Access to be fixed. When selecting songs its cuts part of the beginning out from the song. The songs should all be able to continuously be played on that chosen folder and not randomly skipping to other tracks. You should also be able to see what playing without having to go to the "extra player" which IMO is a complete waste of resources. Why are there 2 players? Also this extra player doesn't update the info when you've chosen a song from the directory. It shows information from a different song. Another flaw I've found is when you do a long press on the music files through the directory it will freeze the player and you are forced to shut it down. Yet music is still playing? What a funky mess this player is.

Also album art should be showing up. I've embedded album art and it all shows on Power Amp. I really wish the Stock player had the functionality of Power Amp. It would really make this player perfect IMO.

Lots of info

Please Ibasso fix the following
Bugs and features missing:

1. Embedded album art not displaying for FLAC or ape files.PLEASE IBASSO FIX THIS!!!!!!!
2. No way to delete a shortcut widget from one of the home screens!
3.Even if the screen turns off, the volume buttons should be usable.
4.iBasso really should include a brief manual describing the proper use of the UI in the next production round
5. When using file explorer, songs being played stop during playback, resuming a second later from the beginning of the track - this is triggered by re-orienting the device. To say this a different way, when a track is being played, if the gyro sensor senses movement, it automatically stops the track and starts it again from the beginning.
6.When watching video, video freezes if volume level is adjusted.
7.When volume level is adjusted during playback of audio or video, all other controls are frozen until volume dialogue fades from the screen.
8.When you go back from a specific album to all albums, selection goes back to the top, which is annoying if you have hundreds of albums and you're trying to get to an album starting with letter Z.
9.If the name of the album/song/artist is too long, it will only show the first certain amount of letters and then '...' This is expected, but without some method of displaying the whole length of the name, such as the title sliding across horizontally to the left showing you the whole name, general song selection becomes extremely difficult (I.e. I cannot distinguish between Mozart Violin Concerto No. 21 and Mozart Violin Concerto No. 24 because they're cut off with '...')
10.Flac and aiff tags are not recognized at all.
11.Ability to add songs to playlist is limited to either adding each song individually, or by a list displaying every single song inside the dap by alphabetical order.
12.There's no ability to skip to a certain letter in the large list.
13.No way to display songs by composer.
14.When you select a song in a folder under Directory, instead of the playlist being the music inside that folder, it defaults to all music.
15. I left a  track playing continuously/loop overnight, then when I tried playing a normal song this morning, the playback speed was doubled. I had to restart the device for it to return back to normal.
16.To add :Song titles have artist names in blue underneath them (in small size) in Directory listing instead of file size
17.If you press on the song for a second, a menu appears, one being add to playlist. This does not happen in "now playing" list (the top right button with play sign in the main player).
18.Whenever I connect to USB and disconnect, it automatically creates all these playlists of some albums. It just appears there.
19.Battery indicator is not visible when in song playing 'detailed view'
20.When a song is playing, the 'slider' to shuttle through the track does work, but when you touch it, it is too easy to accidentally hit 'Next track' or 'Previous track' icon. Therefore, activation hotspot for shuttle area needs to be larger
21.Amp makes loud pop EVEN WHEN WAKING FROM SOFT STANDBY.
22.after a reboot the stock player's equalizer across the whole range is boosted by +3 and you have to reset it manually each time.
23.My stock player keeps defaulting to shuffle ON after a restart. Plus when I click the shuffle icon it doesn't change until I pull up the preferences and change the play order using the check boxes.
24.The ibasso player is not properly recognizing the correct bit rate and song length on some mp3 VBR files.  Such songs show as being a low bit rate and thousands of minutes long.  Everything produced with EAC/Lame seems OK...but older VBR mp3's from (for example) Musicmatch do not read properly.  I have never had a problem with such files properly being read on any other device.
25. When a songs bit rate/length is not being properly read, any attempt to scroll through the song results in skipping to other songs...very strange.
26. The ibasso player periodically "falls" out of shuffle mode with no human intervention.
27. While playing a song, the DX100 often experiences a slight pause in playback (or pop/crackle) when the DAP is being navigated and other applications or screens requiring extra CPU power are being implemented.  For example. conducting a song search while listening to a song will exhibit this behavior.
28.The notification screen should include clear button, to clear all the messages, as with all android devises!
29.In the Stock player, when accessing the info menu of a music file "Song info",the "length" should be renamed to "size"

DX100 Feature Requests:

________________________________________________________________

- When playing a track and then interrupting playback by manually choosing a different track, player fades-out current track (good), but fades-in the new track (bad). Please do not fade-in the new track!
________________________________________________________________

- Please remove any processes from start-up that are not absolutely necessary for playing music - for example, we do not need or want Android Market to automatically run, when the player is switched on
________________________________________________________________

- Would like to see a L/R balance control and also a L/R channel swap function. This isn't critically important but it would be a nice feature to have, particularly for people with headphones (or ears!) with differing L/R levels.
________________________________________________________________

- Could we have a 'sensitivity' adjuster to allow hardware volume control button to adjust volume-level up or down more quickly or more slowly, depending on user preference?
________________________________________________________________

- Do we really need the 'Basic' Music Player view as well as the 'Detailed' View? The 'Detailed' view seems entirely adequate to me, so the 'Basic' view seems redundant.

Okay ibasso I got a few things I want to add as well. This is regarding the Directory folder access. When accessing the folders via the directory and then switching to a different folder, the DX100 will revert back to the earlier played folder after the current song has completed playing. The only way to prevent this is to pause the player and then choose a new folder. This is "not" acceptable. When I choose to go into another folder and play it even while music is playing from another folder, it should stay in the folder that I have currently chosen.

There also doesn't seem to be a method of shuffling the files via the directory. This needs to be fixed.

Also when I go back into the folder directory it starts me back at the top of the folder directory. This needs to be fixed. You need to make it start from the last folder chosen and not revert back to the very first folder in the directory. To give you an example. In order to keep the files playing in the same folder I have to go back to the player and pause. When I go back to the directory I am no longer inside the selected folder but at the very top menu. Make it where you are still inside the last selected folder. And when you decide to go back to the music directory you are still on the last selected folder. How things are configured now  is a big waste of time and also battery life. Thank you ibasso.

This usually happens ( for me ) when a 24bit file is played continuously and then at some point of time, if I change the track to the usual 16bit, the playback will be doubled.

Also I noticed that there is a sizzling/cracking noise when playing 24-192 tracks but i think that depends on how the track was converted? Although i tried playing the same files to my PC and I didn't get any sizzling/cracking noise. But then again, my PC can only play upto 24-96 i really can't test it properly.

My experiences with 24/192 are self-converted/downgraded from SACD. I don't have any from HDTracks (my HDTracks are 24-96).

According to the sacd-ripper developers, pop/crackles come up during the conversion to PCM. Audirvana+ recently upgraded and I've noticed the pop/crackles gone on the DX100.

Did you ever notice pops/crackles with DSD files converted using Korg Audiogate or Weiss Saracon?

I used to hear a lot with Audirvana+ 1.2x. But not so (or much less?) with AudioGate. In fact I use AudioGate as my main DFF->FLAC converter now.

Audirvana+ 1.3 fixed the pop/crackle issue. However, for some strange reason, the track volume (sorry, I don't know the right terminology) of the resulting FLAC seems a little lower the same track converted by AudioGate.

Alright, my personal bug list, in order of annoyance:

1) Fix the file sorting and playback order. Come on, Ibasso, this is embarrasing.

2) Support flac tags. Then use them. This includes cover art.

See how the file name is shown in large types just below the cover art? Why not the title tag? The artist, track etc. is displayed correctly just below it. EDIT: No it isn't. It just guesses based on folder names. No flac tag support at all then.
3) Fix the pops at power on and shutdown. With IEMs they sound like gunshots straight in the ear canal.
4) When jumping from a 24 bit file to 16 bit, playback speed is very often doubled. But no audio for me I'm afraid, others get the cool Helium effect.
5) Shuffle seems to turn itself on and off randomly. Pretty ironic when you think about it.
6) Lose email and calendars. It's a DAP, not a smartphone. If people want email and calendars, let them install them from the Market.
7) Proper music widgets for use with other launchers.

And my one suggestion for Ibasso:
Maxim Petrov. Hire him. Trust me, you need him.

First time posting here. Great player and great sound.

In addition to the previous bugs listed above, I would like to add the following that I haven't seen mentioned:

When using a USB OTG (USB on The Go) cable with an external USB drive connected, I can't see the content of the drive through the "Directory" tab of the stock player although the music appears under "Albums" as well as "All Music" tabs and plays well when selected.

To browse the folders of the external drive, One would need to use the included ES File Explorer App and look for "udisk".

When using Poweramp, one can make the app scan the external drive and add it to the library.

First off - I agree. Lock disabled by default as well as a flat EQ would be nice. Also, get rid of email and calendars. That being said, those things are easily fixed

1) Disable the EQ, set it to flat.
2) Install No Lock
3) Personally I find Rockbox for Android to be nothing more than a poorly executed proof of concept so far so I haven't tried it on my DX100. Also, it would require some serious kernel hacking for it to unlock the sound potential of the DX100. Try A/B'ing PowerAmp and the stock player and you'll be able to hear the difference quite clearly.

I am still rooting for volume control that doesn't turn on the screen. I see no excuse for this. The volume goes up gradually and I don't see this as an issue. I never had the volume shoot up on me from in my pocket. The only time I've actually had the volume shoot up was while the screen is on, so please no more excuses ibasso. Constantly adjusting the volume and having the screen shut on will greatly reduce the playback time.

Also the player is buggy. Now on restart I'm constantly having to turn the playback function to "In order" as it constantly sets it to "shuffle". Also the EQ function randomly resets back to "8" for all bands. There needs to be a way to ensure this stays on flat as mentioned earlier. Also when viewing the files through the directory it always starts you from the bottom of the list. I know in China it is regular to do things backwards (the SD card even is inserted backwards) but we are not accustomed to this. Please have the list start from the top of the list when accessing it.

I've already mentioned this but will reiterate. When going back into the directory I want the recently selected folder to be where the screen is located and not back at the very top of the folder lists. This is a big waste of time and a big waste of battery life.

Album art that has been imbedded to the music files is showing up in Power Amp but not the stock player. I don't want to have to go through the effort of re-tagging the files as I spent several hours doing this already and it should work.

Thanks.
