They look, I must say, not premium as the Internet images made me expect. Specially the "silver" plastic is rather cheap looking.
Anyway, they are not top of the line, so, it is ok.
I personally consider them a bit too big to go around, but the trend in this moment is that.
On my normal sized head they do not fit tightly enough, and according to how you move your head they leak sound and you lose basses. You can see the difference if you press them a bit against your head.
The sound is ok, not bad, not excellent. There is a decent detail, a good Soundstage, which is anyway somehow placed a bit behind the head, which I found a bit disturbing as the sound is supposed to come mostly from the front.
The overall sound is a bit dark and dull. Too much upper bass and low mid, much quantity, rather low quality.
I have tried to decrease the basses and increase the highs (with an EQ) but the sound remains dull.
They are APTX, but Sony ships them with the APTX disabled as default. To enable it you must press a combination of buttons till the led blinks three times. In my tests the led blinked always two times, and I could only confirm the APTX via notifications on my Phone.
The best thing on these headphones is the carrying bag. Robust, a bit rigid, very practical and easy to put in a backpack crowded by many things. You can than slip the headphones in and out of their bag easily while the bag is there compressed in the backpack. Even now that I have tested almost 40 BT Headphones I still consider this the best carrying bag EVER.
Another good thing on the Sony are the buttons. Two buttons for the volume, one lever for pause/next track/previous track. It is clever and functional.
Overall they are not a bad pair of headphones and. In some occasions I was pleased with them. But they lack the very high quality sound I am looking for.
I would say that if it is not the maximum Hi-Fi sound possible that you are looking for, and if your budget is limited, you may enjoy them more than I did.
