FiiO D3

RexDalane

New Head-Fier
Pros: It was advertised well
Cons: It simply doesn't work, and from what I can see, there is no company support.
I purchased the D3 and received it today. Bought an optical digital audio cable seperately, hooked everything up, and all I get is a loud static/clicking noise. No TV sound. The website for FiiO is unreachable and the D3 is not working, so I have no way of finding out what is wrong with it. I usally give manufacturers a chance to offer assistance before I write a review, but when they are unreachable and have no product support, then I realize I'm the sucker. I'll be returning this product for a refund.
Buyer beware!

You received it today and now you are already complaining that you're not getting in touch with the manufacturer, during a weekend? And what makes you think that the device isn't just simply faulty? Which may not be manufacturers fault at all. Look in the mirror, please...

Works like a charm for me - up to 48 kHz anyway. There're issues with it crackling at 98 kHz, and at 196 kHz it just doesn't work. But I'm using a cheap, 5 m optical lead, which may account for that. I had to do pointless upsampling to discover this problem though. My recordings are all CD quality, and at 44.1 kHz it works like a charm. Good as anything! :)
