This is a video review of the CCA CXS.
CONSTRUCTION is incredible for the price. All thick metal that feel very sturdy, with unique design and 3 back venting hole that make me consider those semi-open back IEM. For 20$, it's over-the-top impressive.
TONALITY can be summarized as a bright U shape with big resonant sub bass that can go fast, deliver long rumble sustain and rarely if ever bleed into the mids. Treble is crisp, fast, snappy and above average in detailing. Its clean and airy too. Mids are bright, thin and recessed, well resolve, clean too and quite transparent. Spatiality is open and airy, with good center stage deepness that keep mids lean and distant. Upper mids can go sibilant, but its very rare.
TECHNICAL performance are very impressive for the price, and on par or better than lot of sub-100$ IEMs. Transient response is very fast, even excited, so while control isn't perfect it's fast sustain-release compensate this. Resolution and transparency are good as say too. Treble and bass extension go far as well. Imaging is above average for the price.

I have this feeling that this thing you appear to be calling a virtue is the very bane of almost 90% of my iem collection! That HORRIBLE, near-continous "bass" hum/blur that makes me tear out my 'phones (and yes, my hair as well!) It seems to be produced most often (as far as i can make out) by the inability of untold iems to resolve the bottom string of an acoustic guitar? Combination of that and just plain crappy recording artifacts?
Please, explain "long rumble sustain" ?
