The following is a review of the Softears Twilight (ST), an in-ear monitor that boasts exceptional sound quality. The bass performance is not only punchy, but also precise, adding depth and dynamism to the music. It strikes a delicate balance between providing satisfying low-end presence and not overpowering other frequencies. The bass remains clear and agile, ensuring that each note is articulated precisely. Although it may not cater to those seeking an excessively bass-heavy experience, its controlled and nuanced presentation appeals to those who prioritize balance and musicality.

tempImagefUFjNV.jpg

Moving on to the midrange, the ST sets a new standard of naturalness and musicality. Vocals and instruments are rendered with clarity and lifelike quality that draws the listener deeper into the heart of the music. The midrange offers a balance between richness and transparency, allowing each note to resonate with authenticity and depth. It avoids any hint of harshness or artificiality, ensuring a smooth and immersive listening experience. The ST's midrange is capable of capturing every nuance with finesse and grace, making it perfect for any music genre.

tempImage1GBV1X.jpg

The treble performance of the ST is characterized by its extension and refinement. It adds sparkle and detail to the overall sonic landscape. Strings shimmer with clarity, cymbals ring precisely, and high-frequency nuances are rendered with finesse. Despite its energetic presentation, the treble remains impeccably controlled, avoiding any hint of harshness or sibilance. Even during extended listening sessions, the ST's treble retains its musicality and balance, ensuring a fatigue-free listening experience. Its smooth and articulate delivery adds an extra dimension to every track, elevating the listening experience to new heights.

tempImage0BFOGa.jpg

The most captivating features of the ST are its expansive soundstage and precise imaging capabilities. From the beginning of the music, listeners are transported to a three-dimensional auditory landscape where instruments and vocals are positioned with remarkable accuracy and clarity. The ST's vented shells contribute to a sense of airiness and openness, creating a spacious stage that extends far beyond the confines of the listener's ears. Although the stage may lean towards the shallower side, its sound distribution in front and around the ears creates an immersive listening environment that captivates and delights.

tempImageZcHmDg.jpg

In conclusion, the ST is a masterpiece of audio engineering, delivering a captivating listening experience that transcends expectations. Whether you're exploring the depths of a bass-heavy track or revelling in the intricate details of a delicate melody, the ST's musicality and balance shine through. With its expansive soundstage, precise imaging, and fatigue-free treble, it offers a listening experience that is as immersive as it is unforgettable. For audiophiles seeking a refined and engaging in-ear monitor that sets a new standard in sonic excellence, the ST is a true revelation.

The bass on the BQEYZ Wind IEM is super impressive. It's got depth, definition, and a punchy presence that you can feel. The dynamic driver gives you a rumble that goes deep into the sub-bass range, and the mid-bass section has a solid thud that's quick and organic just like real music. And best of all, the bass stays controlled and doesn't get bloated, so you get a balanced and satisfying sound. Even though it's not for extreme bassheads, it's still got enough oomph to stand out as one of the best features without getting in the way of the mids.

tempImagecB0scs.jpg

The BQEYZ Wind IEM's midrange is fantastic! It has a natural and alive sound with a perfect balance of high and low frequencies that produce crystal-clear sounds. Both vocals and instruments are spot-on and sound precise, detailed, and full of life.

tempImager7zF9m.jpg

The treble response is detailed and smooth but not too intense, making it enjoyable to listen to different types of music without any harshness. The open-back design helps to create a broad and immersive soundstage, which is pretty cool. It's got accurate imaging and noticeable note weight, too.

tempImage00vBZa.jpg

To sum it up, the BQEYZ Wind IEM is a dope option for music lovers who enjoy different genres. It's got a balanced sound with deep bass, detailed midrange, and lively treble, which makes it perfect for an engaging listening experience. Plus, the midrange is super and forward, making the whole thing even more enjoyable. So if you're into quality and versatility in your audio gear, I highly recommend you go for the BQEYZ Wind.

Hey, thanks for this.
Tell me please, I see some reviews that say the fit has to be as close as possible to the ear in order to make the best out of the BC driver. Some even claim that you can feel the BC driver working - the vibration with finger pressed on top of the BC driver. I myself don't feel anything with a finger like that, and the distance from my ear shell does not effect the sound at all. Tbh, it feels like the BC is dormant. But since I adore the sound, especially the bass, maybe those reviewers don't know what they are talking about and the BC doesn't actually work like that?

Hi @gael
Based on my experience with Odyssey, I would rather say, "better the contact, better the frequency transfer". I have never tried the latter (touching the BCD); however, considering both flesh and bone can function as speakers, the user might still feel something, if not hear, with fingers. It is still a subjective concept with mixed responses.
Cheers!

@iampidugu Yeah I finally got on some tracks that actually make the BC work at certain places in a track, like at certain frequency response I guess. But it feels like an SFX at best, not something that can influence the sound signature that much.

The bass on this IEM is decent and fuller, and you hear some clean sub-bass rumble from the guitar. The mid-bass could've been a tiny more prominent and not so muddy at times, but some tracks will make you feel the air moving and surprise you. The male vocals are clear, too.
tempImage2TAfKP.jpg

The mid-range is handled well. Even when the track has a lot of build-up, it's still pretty straightforward. The vocals are enjoyably lush and don't sound shouty at all.
tempImageT76DSk.jpg

The treble is really clean. Even though it's somewhat brittle, I didn't feel any fatigue when listening for long periods. The female vocals don't sound aggressive at all. I really dig how they're just a bit analytical yet still sound musical.
tempImageZYQ4Ps.jpg

Overall, the sound quality of this thing is decent, with minor tweaks that could be made to improve it even further.

The mid-bass is the star of the show here, and it's surprisingly good for the price. It's fuller, cleaner, and has a hint of sub-bass rumble. It doesn't have much impact, but it doesn't bleed into the mids. Don't expect too much sub-bass presence at this price point, though.

tempImageh2Djsp.jpg

The lower mid-range is clear, and the vocals are decent without any harshness in the upper mid-range. Although the songs are tuned to be v-shaped, they sound intimate enough.

The treble is okay with sufficient presence, but it takes a backseat in crowded tracks, possibly because of the lower range. However, female vocals sound on point and accurate. This may not be for you if you want sparkle and shine. But if you want a laid-back listening experience during longer music sessions.

tempImagebmrI05.jpg

This IEM is dope for the price. The mid-bass is the real MVP, making the sound clear and complete. The lower mid-range is primarily sweet, and the vocals are solid. This is the way to go if you're looking for something to vibe to during long music sessions.

Ares 8W - Bass on steriods!
Pros: - The Ares4W cable provides a balanced sound with a boosted bass, enhancing the overall stage presence.
- The Ares8W cable offers an extended, punchy low-end, providing a more dynamic and impactful audio experience.
- Both cables offer an immersive and engaging listening experience that can keep users hooked for hours.
Cons: - Upgrading to the Ares4W or Ares8W cables can be costly.
- The Ares8W cable is heavier than the Ares4W, which could concern some users.
- The choice between the Ares4W and Ares8W ultimately depends on personal preference, which may make it challenging for some users to decide which cable to purchase.

Astell & Kern Odyssey with Stock Cable:
When I first got my Odyssey, I was impressed with the stock cable. It had balanced and authoritative low-end, velvety mids, and clear highs. However, I couldn't resist trying out the Ares4W and Ares8W cables. As a typical audio enthusiast, I was curious to see what they could add to my listening experience.

tempImagemGd197.jpg

Astell&Kern Odyssey with Effect Audio Ares 4W:
The Ares4W cable did not disappoint. The Odyssey's dynamics improved significantly with this cable, providing a better overall stage presence with boosted lows. The mids were mesmerizing and soothing, with no loss of detail. It was an immersive experience that kept me hooked for hours.

tempImagemE7WvZ.jpg

Astell&Kern Odyssey with Effect Audio Ares 8W:
However, I was even more impressed by the Ares8W cable. It provided an extended and punchy low-end that made me feel like I was at a live concert. The bass was mighty and powerful, yet it didn't overpower the rest of the sound. The overall sound was dynamic, clear, and impactful, with a smile on my face throughout my first session. Since then, I've been enjoying it even more.

tempImageXosZ7w.jpg

Ares 4W vs Ares 8W:
When it comes to the Ares4W vs. Ares8W, the Ares4W delivers a balanced sound with a boosted bass, while the Ares8W is like the big brother of the 4W with an even bigger low-end. If you want that mighty bass and don't mind the weight of an 8-wire cable, the Ares8W is definitely the way to go.
tempImageNgjS3w.jpg

Conclusion:
Upgrading from the stock cable to either the Ares4W or Ares8W cables presents an opportunity to enhance your listening experience with IEMs significantly. The Ares4W offers a balanced sound with a boosted bass, while the Ares8W provides a more potent and extended low-end. Ultimately, the choice depends on personal preference, but either way, users can expect an immersive, dynamic, and engaging audio experience.

My Experience
  • With AK Odyssey IEMs
The audio performance of the device was truly exceptional. It retained the tuning of the Odyssey, a highly revered and respected audio benchmark, without any noticeable deviations or distortions. The sound quality was clear, crisp, and balanced, with impressive detail and depth. However, what truly stood out to me were the digital filters. These filters provided an incredibly accurate and precise sound and allowed for various customization options. They could accurately reproduce the original sound intended to be heard and added clarity and definition that genuinely elevated the listening experience. In addition to the impressive sound quality, the device boasted an almost non-existent background noise floor. This meant no unwanted noise or interference, allowing for an enjoyable audio experience. Overall, the device was an exceptional piece of audio equipment that genuinely exceeded my expectations.
tempImagenSLCgU.jpg

  • With Senneheiser HD660S2
Although it could drive the IEMs without issues, the device struggled to produce optimal sound quality with the 660S2 headphones. It was clear that an external amplifier was necessary to fully utilize the potential of the headphones. However, the sound quality produced without any external amplifier was impressive and practical, given the device's small form factor. The audio was vibrant, clear and had good separation, allowing for a delightful listening experience. The bass was tight and punchy, while the high frequencies were crisp and detailed, highlighting the subtleties of the music. The mid-range was also well-balanced, providing a good foundation for vocals and acoustic instruments. Overall, the device was practical and suitable for casual listening, but audiophiles seeking a more immersive sound experience would need to invest in an external amplifier.
tempImagem0n37w.jpg

Conclusion:
The performance of the product is impressive. Its sleek and transparent or see-through design, which effectively complements any IEM used in conjunction, is a notable feature much appreciated. The design is aesthetically pleasing and flawlessly complements any IEM used in conjunction, rendering it an excellent choice for those who value both form and function. The ease of the setup process and the intuitive controls make for a user-friendly experience, enabling effortless navigation through the settings. Furthermore, as promised, the product boasts a decent battery life when used with IEMs.

Kinera Freya 2.0 – Beautiful, Unique and Distinctive
Pros: Clean vocals and an interesting and emotional midrange.
A bass sound that is all its own, with a quick and controlled response.
Detailed treble makes the experience more musical and immersive.
Small soundstage for a close and full listening experience.
People who are looking for a certain sound profile may like the unique sound character.
Cons: It doesn't have a lot of sub-bass extension, so it might not have enough depth for some genres.
Overall resolution is lower because the treble lacks natural extension and brilliance.
Bass may value quantity over quality, and it may lack slam in some situations.
The technical performance is average, and this includes the soundstage and imaging.
Midrange can sometimes lose its grip, especially on higher vocal notes.
Not the best option for monitoring because it's hard to get the instruments exactly where you want them.
It might not be right for people who want a more balanced or analytical sound.

tempImagesIC2WK.jpg

Note: For the review, Apple Music (ALACs) was used as a source on a MacBook Pro connected to a HugoTT2 on low gain mode. All tracks were played at the same volume level. For this review, please remember that I used the stock cable and the last type E tips. These songs were used for this review:
  • Wow by Post Malone
  • Carry On by XXXTentacion
  • Jiya Jale by AR Rehman
  • Moh Moh Ke Dhaage by Anu Malik
  • Street Dancer by Avicii
  • One Kiss by Calvin Harris
  • Get Low by Dillion Francis and DJ Snake
Bass:
I felt that the Kinera Freya 2.0's bass was quick, tight, and well-controlled in the mid-bass. It's great for people who like their bass to be faster and more precise. The sub-bass isn't very loud, but the low end is heavy and well-controlled. But it leans a little more toward quantity than quality, and there are times when the slam and attack aren't very clear. The tuning is generally nice; it hits a balanced frequency response without putting too much emphasis on any one range. The natural, laid-back voice gives it a unique charm that makes it work for a wide range of genres.

tempImageJWxz5N.jpg

Mids:
To talk about the midrange, the vocals were clean and full-bodied, with a focus on weight and texture. The vocals had a sound that was both realistic and emotionally engaging, though the higher notes were sometimes a little harsh. The midrange had a softly bright sound with a hint of lushness and warmth that kept it from sounding thin. The vocals of the women were emphasized, and the tone was kept pleasing without adding shoutiness or sibilance. People who are sensitive to pinna gain, on the other hand, might want to be careful.

tempImageFy5PVN.jpg

The midrange had a pleasant sound overall, though it wasn't always buttery smooth. Not as well with instruments like the saxophone, which lacked a natural bloom and had a dry, boosted texture. The piano played well, especially in the lower range, but it was hard to tell the difference between notes when they were playing quickly because of a warm definition edge. The midrange had some trouble with sound layering in fast, busy tracks, which made the sound hazy and less clear. Even so, the midrange kept the warmth of the bass in the background, and as more energetic instruments were added, the clarity went down.

Highs:
The treble on the Kinera Freya 2.0 is clear and musical, making for an interesting listening experience with instruments placed in the right places. It keeps the brightness safe, though, focusing on high-pitched textures and showing clear boosts in the upper mids, especially in percussion frequencies. The timbre is a little dry and doesn't sparkle much, and the treble isn't too thin but isn't the cleanest or most refined either. The definition of percussions adds some euphony and noise, which makes the sound crunchier, but it's not very good at resolution or small details. The treble on an acoustic guitar can play a lot of different styles, but it lacks brilliance and harmonic coherence. This makes it a "master of none, jack of all trades" with many different qualities.

tempImageoNNLNY.jpg

Soundstage & Imaging:
Based on my experience listening to the Kinera Freya 2.0, I thought the soundstage was pretty small, giving the sound a close and immersive feel. The soundstage's width and height are stronger than its depth, and when the bass takes centre stage, the depth tends to fade.

It sounds good when it comes to imaging, especially when it comes to instrumental parts that don't have a lot of bass. One interesting thing to note is that instruments in the middle of the stage, like the piano, can sound a little off-stage when compared to percussion. This doesn't really get in the way of enjoying the music, but it does mean that these headphones might not be the best for critical monitoring where exact instrument placement is important.

tempImageWlAvkP.jpg

Conclusion:
With its tight and controlled mid-bass, engaging midrange, and detailed treble, the Kinera Freya 2.0 has a sound that is all its own. But it's not perfect when it comes to bass extension, treble brilliance, and overall technical performance. Imaging is average, and the soundstage is small. It works well for some tastes, especially when it comes to vocal-heavy genres, but it might not be the best choice for people who want a more flexible or analytical sound. Quality Cable: This earphone cable has an 8-core high-purity OCC copper fully-balanced litz wire, a true 4.4mm balanced connector, and a 0.78 two-pin standard socket. This makes sure that the connection and signal transmission are reliable.
Cons: Limited Soundstage Width: Some users may feel that the soundstage width isn't as wide as it is with other high-end IEMs, which could affect how spacious the sound is.
Lower Treble with a Veil: There is a veil in the lower treble that may make things a little less clear, especially in tracks with a lot of bass.

Note: For the review, Apple Music (ALACs) was used as a source on a MacBook Pro connected to a Chord Mojo2 and an AQ Jitterbug. All tracks were played at the same volume level. For this review, please remember that I used the stock cable and the last type E tips. These songs were used for this review:
  • Wow by Post Malone
  • Carry On by XXXTentacion
  • Jiya Jale by AR Rehman
  • Moh Moh Ke Dhaage by Anu Malik
  • Street Dancer by Avicii
  • One Kiss by Calvin Harris
  • Get Low by Dillion Francis and DJ Snake
Bass:
The bass performance was deep, impactful, and visceral bass response is something that interested me move further. It finds a good balance between quantity and maturity, giving you a satisfyingly robust experience without giving up technical finesse. This bass skill is great for many types of music, but it really shines when used in metal and other bass-heavy styles. Although it avoids the problems that come with being too boomy, giving a controlled and clean presentation, the devil is in the details, "artificial resonance" that stays in the background that changed the clarity of the definition, especially in the kick drum, but it doesn't take away from the overall experience.

tempImagevRye6s.jpg

The Zeta's versatility is clear when you hear how well it plays different types of music. It manages to keep a faithful reproduction of live recordings, with accurate impact and a nice, natural decay in the bass. It's called a "tactile bass with excellent texture," which suggests that it might not be right for people who want a lot of bass. It provides an interesting bass experience that suits a wide range of tastes. It works well with a lot of different types of music because it has good impact, texture, and adaptability.

Mids:
The midrange was always clear and open, and notes from low male vocals to sweet upper female vocals were played without any veil or compression. It sounded well-rounded and kept its clean, resolving quality even when there was a strong bass. The female vocals were captivating and emotional, with notes of clarity, fullness, and forward presentation. However, I noticed a slightly recessed quality that added to a calm and watchful coloration. The upper midrange lift made it sound smoother without becoming too creamy or lacking in acidity.

tempImagePgILQJ.jpg

The midrange representation of the instruments sounded great, especially the piano, which had a quick attack, a soft impact, and natural reverberation that lasted for a long time and the violin became a favourite because it had lively realism, vivid agility, rich texture, and transparency. To sum up, the midrange's overall performance and its ability to shine with some instruments make it an interesting part of the Zeta's sound.

Highs:
While still delivering complex treble details, the treble was clean and a bit thicker than neutral. It shows that the bass and mids are given more weight. It might not be the best treble performer in its price range, but it does a great job of keeping detail and extension. The fast, fluid, and clear treble made possible by the quad EST drivers stands out. This presentation strikes a good balance by being less ethereal and more restrained than some other trebles that use EST. The lower treble dip gets rid of sibilance, and the mid-to-upper treble boost makes sure the performance is well-balanced and flexible.

tempImageKaHgeN.jpg
The very fast and well-controlled attack speed helps to bring out the vivid details in complex percussions, making for an engrossing, immersive, and reflective listening experience. Collectively, it made the treble a notable and enjoyable part of the Zeta's overall sound signature.

Technicalities:
It has a huge soundstage that is impressive in both width and depth, making the room feel open and airy. The slightly set-back central stage adds to the feeling of space and lets me get lost in a clear, holographic musical experience that spans multiple sound planes. The Zeta does a great job of imaging, making sound layers that are easy to read and see that make it possible to hear second instrumental planes. Even though there is a veil at the bottom of the spectrum, the presentation is not compressed, which helps create a wide and deep soundscape.

tempImageuiUmWp.jpg
Wide separation space makes the high end of the spectrum shine, especially when it comes to rendering percussion. It also gives me a high-fidelity stereo experience that makes listening more enjoyable overall. The Zeta's resolution is impressive; it picks up fine details across a wide range of genres without lowering the treble, so the sound stays natural and believable, which is how I like it. Overall, the technical prowess of the Zeta makes me enjoy music more, and each listening session is an interesting and immersive journey.

At this price, it's a good buy because:
The Zeta stands out as a great choice in its price range. The sound signature has a lot of detail and refinement thanks to the improved electrostatic driver and careful acoustic design. The high-quality construction, which includes housings made of titanium alloy and fine CNC machinery, makes sure that it will last and feel great. With its spatial harmonic enhancement structure and high-tech cable, the Zeta provides an engrossing and captivating sound experience. There are a few small problems with the Hiby Zeta, like veiled lower treble, but the overall package and tribrid technology make it a great choice for audiophiles who want a versatile and high-performance IEM at it's price.

tempImagec8b8UM.jpg

Conclusion:
Zeta is a great audio companion because it creates a sound profile that is both dynamic and detailed, giving audiophiles a full and immersive listening experience. It had great treble performance thanks to its spatial harmonic enhancement structure, multiple acoustic chambers, and advanced crossovers. However, it has a slightly smaller soundstage and a slight veil in the lower treble, but these small flaws aren't noticeable when you listen to it. Fans who want an affordable, high-performance in-ear monitor that can be used for a variety of tasks should consider the Hiby Zeta. It is a standout option in the competitive audio market because of its meticulous craftsmanship, and exceptional sound quality.

Pros: Versatile Amplification: Its powerful amplification system, with the option of switching between Class A and Class AB modes, caters to a wide range of headphones and IEMs, offering flexibility and adaptability.
Exceptional Sound Quality: Delivers outstanding audio quality with a warm/neutral tonality, quick transient response, and exceptional transparency, making it a compelling choice for audiophiles.
Detailed Midrange: The midrange impresses with warmth, transparency, and a forward presentation that enhances vocals and instrumentals, making it a standout feature of the player.
Cons: Warm Tonality: Some users seeking a more neutral or analytical sound may find the player's slightly warm tonality not to their liking.
Limited Colour Options: The R6 Pro II is available in a limited selection of colours (Black/Purple), limiting personalisation choices for the price.
Not Suitable for Bass-Forward Sound: If you prefer a bass-forward sound with a coloured and fun signature, the R6 Pro II may not be the ideal choice, as it aims for a more audiophile-oriented sound.
The HiBy R6 Pro II DAP is a remarkable addition to the world of portable digital audio players. With its promise of delivering high-resolution audio and a host of impressive features, this device has caught the attention of audiophiles and music enthusiasts alike. In this review, we'll delve into the key aspects of the HiBy R6 Pro II to see if it lives up to the hype.

Design and Build Quality: The R6 Pro II is a visually appealing DAP, boasting a sleek and modern design. Its chassis feels premium and durable, with a satisfying heft in the hand. The large touchscreen display is sharp and responsive, making navigation through menus and album artwork a breeze. It's evident that HiBy has put considerable thought into the design and ergonomics of this player.

tempImageuVAV5t.jpg

User Interface and Software:The player runs on a customized version of Android 12, providing a familiar smartphone-like experience. The software is responsive and intuitive, but it may take some time for those new to Android-based DAPs to fully grasp the interface. Additionally, regular firmware updates from HiBy have addressed many initial software quirks, improving the overall user experience.

Connectivity: HiBy has left no stone unturned in ensuring connectivity options galore. The R6 Pro II supports a variety of wireless protocols, including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth with LDAC support, and even aptX HD for high-quality wireless audio streaming. This player is also compatible with streaming services like Tidal and Qobuz, further expanding your music library options.

Battery Life: One of the few drawbacks of the R6 Pro II is its battery life. While it offers decent endurance, averaging around 8-10 hours of playback, it falls short compared to some of its competitors. However, the inclusion of a USB-C port for fast charging helps mitigate this issue to some extent.

Price: The HiBy R6 Pro II is positioned in the premium segment of the DAP market, and it comes with a price tag to match. While it may be a substantial investment, the exceptional audio quality and feature set make it a worthy consideration for serious music enthusiasts.

tempImage9dfj7N.jpg

Balanced and Unbalanced Outputs: One of the notable features of this DAP is its support for both balanced and unbalanced outputs. It offers 3.5mm and 4.4mm output ports for both single-ended and balanced connections. This flexibility allows users to choose their preferred amplification setup based on their headphones or earphones, ensuring compatibility with a wide range of audio equipment.

Audio Quality: The standout feature of the R6 Pro II is its stellar audio quality, it promises a remarkable audio experience, and it delivers on this front with its exceptional sound quality and versatility. Here's a summary of the sound impressions.

It supports a wide range of audio formats, allowing you to enjoy your music in its purest form. The sound signature is neutral, offering a faithful representation of the original recordings, which is a boon for audiophiles seeking accuracy.

The amplification capabilities are a critical component that contributes to its reputation as a high-quality digital audio player (DAP). This device is equipped with a sophisticated amplification system that enhances the overall audio experience for its users. The player offers both Class AB and Class A amplification modes, catering to different preferences. Class AB amplification combines the efficiency of Class B amplification with the linearity of Class A amplification, striking a balance between power and audio quality. Class A amplification, on the other hand, is renowned for its purity and low distortion, making it ideal for audiophiles seeking the utmost in sound quality.

The HiBy R6Pro II is also designed to handle a wide range of headphone impedances. Whether you have low-impedance in-ear monitors or high-impedance over-ear headphones, the player can provide the necessary power to drive them effectively. This impedance matching ensures that your headphones receive the optimal amplification for the best possible sound quality.

tempImagewj2HiL.jpg

The bass, though not the central focus, impresses with a tactile sub-bass and tight mid-bass. It maintains control without bleeding into the midrange. While it doesn't boost bass quantity, it elevates its quality, providing an authentic and textured bass experience. This refinement is particularly evident when compared to inferior sources.

The midrange shines, offering a warmish neutral profile with transparency and smoothness. Notes are well-defined, not overly sharp, and vocals are slightly forward but well-controlled. This emphasis adds depth to vocals and instruments without veering into metallic or grainy territory, resulting in a pleasing and engaging midrange.

Vocals exhibit a balanced thickness in the midrange, avoiding dryness. Note body has structure and a relaxed, yet energetic, character. Lower-mids provide additional warmth, while upper-mids offer clarity and a hint of shimmer. Male and female vocals are rendered with depth and detail, showcasing the 8x DAC architecture's capabilities. Details are easily illuminated, and the timbre remains natural and unprocessed.

tempImage9g3HZx.jpg

Treble is balanced and refined, integrating seamlessly with the mix. Even with IEMs emphasizing highs, the R6 Pro II maintains control and refines treble presentation, offering a punchy but not harsh character. It provides good extension and clarity beyond 10kHz, enhancing the overall listening experience. Extended listening sessions remain fatigue-free.

Surprisingly, the R6 Pro II provides a spacious soundstage given its power rating. Sound is naturally rendered without feeling pushed too forward or recessed. While the vocal imaging benefits from MSEB settings, it is firmer on the 3.5mm output compared to the 4.4mm output, which sounds more expansive. Elevated bass and emphasized upper mids strike a balance between resolution and dynamics, offering an engaging listening experience.

tempImageNdezlS.jpg

In a nutshell, the HiBy R6 Pro II (Gen 2) is a symphony of sound quality and customization that will make audiophiles' hearts sing. With its dynamic amplification, versatile Class A/AB modes, and meticulous tuning, it's the top choice for those looking to elevate their musical journey. Whether you crave relaxation or dynamism, this player puts you in control, ensuring an immersive and mesmerizing sonic adventure. It sets a new standard in the world of high-fidelity portable audio, making it a must-have for the discerning music enthusiast.

Very nice review with interesting descriptions.
HIBY R6PRO II - I had the opportunity to listen.
In this price range, great design, great sound, bright, readable screen, great possibilities, space specification and...................weak battery.
I guess there weren't a few centimeters of a larger housing to increase the capacity of the very weak battery.
If the FIIO M23 DAP announced for this year (FIIO Q15 amp/dac, also with similar specifications already shown at the shows) is to have a similar specification as the HIBY R6PRO II - but with a larger battery, I choose FIIO M23.

1677512686975.jpeg

My experience with the unit:
The review is based on using Apple Music (ALACs) as a source via Macbook Pro onto an AQ Cobalt + AQ Jitterbug at the same volume level for all tracks. Following are the tracks and IEMs used for this review:
  • Tracks
    • Wow by Post Malone
    • Carry On by XXXTentacion
    • Jiya Jale by AR Rehman
    • Moh Moh Ke Dhaage by Anu Malik
    • Street Dancer by Avicii
    • One Kiss by Calvin Harris
    • Get Low by Dillion Francis and DJ Snake
    • Moonlight on Spring River by Zhao Cong
  • IEMs
    • Letshuoer Galileo
    • AK Odyssey
    • Oriolus Isabellae
    • Oriolus Szalayi
Lows:
For me, the cable had a balanced sound signature, with both upper and lower lows being prominent and providing enough thump when compared to Szalayi and Isabellae's stock cable. The lows have been refined and clean. Isabellae is known for its overblown lows, but this cable changed everything. The clarity and transient lows made it sound more musical than boomy. Galileo also made significant improvements in this category, and the bespoke EA cable for the AK Odyssey defeated Orlog. I know it's unfair to compare the two, but Orlog works well with the majority of IEMs, whereas the AK Odyssey stock cable doesn't work well (sound-wise) with all IEMs. Finally, the sub-low rumble is well-managed and nimble.

1677512624414.jpeg

Mids:
The vocals are lush but not overpowering, and they blend well with the rest of the frequency range. As I previously stated, the word for this is balanced. It nailed the details, the artist and instruments can be easily distinguished as it adds weight to the holographic soundstage. It made a big difference in the sound stage of my Isabellae. This should be the universal cable I have for all of my IEMs.

1677512653901.jpeg

Highs:
My AQC's neutral SS allowed me to hear the significant improvements in highs that Orlog extended with Isabellae and Szalayi. It worked really well together, especially during the Moonlight on Spring River track session; the instruments sound fantastic that will have you smiling the whole time. The sheer resolution allows you to hear and feel every instrument used in the track. The gentle rumble combined with the natural highs was the decisive factor for me.

1677512605517.jpeg

Conclusion: This cable reminded me of the bespoke version of the EA Eros S signature series cable, as this is a fantastic collaboration between Kinera and EA. If you are looking for a premium cable in the $699 (4-core) - $999 (8-core) range that’s provides both musical and analytical upgrades, this is that cable you should add to your collection also if your IEMs demand an upgrade.

Thanks for your time and Cheers!

  • Aviation-grade aluminum ear cavities.
  • Professionally adjusted sound tuning.
  • High-quality 5N OFC cable.
  • 0.78mm 2-pin connectors.
  • Comfortable and Ergonomic fit.
  • Two color options, Gold & Silver.

Technical specifications:
  • Driver spec: 10mm.
  • Distortion: <0.5%.
  • Sensitivity: 109dB.
  • Impedance: 18Ω.
  • Channel difference: 1dB.
  • Frequency response range: 20Hz-20kHz.
My experience with the unit:
The review is based on using Roon (Offline FLACs) as a source via laptop onto an Audio Quest Cobalt at the same volume level for all tracks. Please keep in mind that I have used the stock cable and tips with the unit. Following are the tracks used for this review:
  • Wow by Post Malone
  • Carry On by XXXTentacion
  • Jiya Jale by AR Rehman
  • Moh Moh Ke Dhaage by Anu Malik
  • Street Dancer by Avicii
  • One Kiss by Calvin Harris
  • Get Low by Dillion Francis and DJ Snake

Lows:
I felt the rumble of sub-bass but not overly evident. On some tracks I felt that there was a mild mid-bass bleed. Overall, it’s a mid-bass focussed unit that makes it’s signature lean towards warmer side from neutral. Also, lows were decently extended and justify the price at least according to me.

Mids:
Mids might sometime influence the vocals due to the aforementioned mid-bass bleed. However, I felt the vocals was clear and transparent on some tracks. Coming to the mid-range technicalities it’s just right there but nothing outstanding.

Highs:
Airy treble with least sibilance, but it might be inconvenient to use for extended hours at higher volumes, however the detail and transparency, timbre was decently acceptable. Overall, very few complaints that shouldn’t stop you from buying this.

Conclusion: This is a steal if you are looking for a decently performing budget single DD IEM that is balanced tuned and you don’t care about the technicalities. Last but not the least the packing will not let you down and it really looked expensive and definitely not a 35 USD IEM.

Thanks for your time and Cheers!

2_0a27d00e-74d5-4ff5-97b0-7050c4ca54d5.jpg

Lows: I have found the overall tuning to be neutral and natural. The unit delivered deep yet detailed bass which really complement the smooth highs which I be talking further in this review. Although the bass is deep it lacks rumble which might be a bummer to bass heads.

6_c65b5c48-04f6-4227-a86b-cbbf6962bfda.jpg

Mids: Rich and lively vocals, lacks the mid-bass but compensated by the decent layered clear and transparent vocals. The reason I call it compensated is that you would feel that it lacks mid-bass when you are really nit picking about it, if you ask me, I wouldn’t mind give what it does the rest at a 100USD price point.

3_3fbca7f2-0841-4375-a9f2-c4a6b1cb3a11.jpg

Highs: Refined and detailed instruments yet smooth sounding meaning it is harmless to folks who are sensitive to treble. The highs are clear, airy that complements the sound with a fun and engaging presentation.

7_ff7c2122-3c6d-418e-a29b-7fc6114f7f82.jpg

Conclusion: Get this right away if you want to live your music with high-resolution clarity, detail and decent dynamics. PS: It gets decently powered straight off a smartphone too (when I tried powering it with my iPhone 13mini). However, I have used an USB Dongle for high-resolution signal decoding as suggested by the brand for best performance with the pair.

Thanks for your time and Cheers!

My Take on The See Audio’s YUME II - Latest-Generation Three-Driver Hybrid IEMs
Pros: Decent details and treble extension
Great mid-range
Beautiful shiny shells (although this comes at a cost, please read through for more info)
Neutral to the balanced sound signature
Non-fatiguing
OFC Cable
Cons: Shells are fingerprint magnets (although they are one of the most beautiful shells I have come across)
Mediocre imaging
I personally (I am more towards a bass head) didn’t like the lower (frequency) response
Disclaimer: This is a subjective preference based on my experiences with the unit. This is an unpaid review which is not influenced by HiFiGo or See Audio. However, I recommend you test the unit before making a purchase. Thank you to HiFiGo for organising this review tour.

  • Frequency Response Range: 20Hz-20kHz.
  • THD+N: ≤2%.

  • Termination: 3.5mm.
  • Connector Interface: 2-pin 0.78mm.
  • Cable: 6N OFC Silver-Plated Cable.
1673181961779.png

My Experience with the Unit:

Lows:

The mid-bass is more prominent than the sub-bass, hence it’s neutral to balanced. I am not a fan of lower expression of the sub-bass that lets down that rumble, but the lows are linear and extend deep in a good way and are decently faster and detailed at their best.

1673182139223.png

Mids:

The vocals are nearly natural, and lush and the mid-detail is excellent. But I felt on some of the tracks that I have tested the timbre was off and they barely made it to the natural-sounding atmosphere. But if you ask for the price, they are available, they sounded worthy and they will not let you down.

1673182308714.png

Highs:

The highs were the sweetest point for me to write this review. I loved the very smooth and extended highs which are never fatiguing, and you can wear them for hours and even sleep wearing them. Although there is decent air sometimes, they might not be as detailed as you want them to be.

1673182406390.png

The review is based on using Roon (Offline FLACs) as a source via laptop onto an Audio Quest Cobalt at the same volume level for all tracks. Please keep in mind that I have used the stock cable and tips with the unit.

All in all, a very good value IEM at 149 USD (price at the time of writing this review). They are beautiful, comfortable, non-fatiguing and neutral to balanced sounding units. I am sure that you will fall in love with its packaging, and I highly recommend you get it if you enjoy your neutral and balanced sound signature at the expense of little technicalities.

My Experience with the Unit:
Lows
: Aful Performer 5 to me is neutrally tuned with a bass boost. It mainly focuses on the sub-bass rather than the mid-bass. Lows are clear with minimal distortion even at higher volumes. They don’t bleed into mids and have good cohesion. On some tracks, I might have felt bass lacked a little energy and punch.

Mids: Midrange is neutral and very straightforward, but sometimes might lack energy on some tracks. Overall, the mids are balanced which doesn’t sound on your face nor be recessive to be heard and are suitable for longer listening sessions.

Highs: Treble is not sparkly might be due to the less air and there’s zero sibilance whatsoever. However, you might feel that the lower treble is smooth and the upper is a little darker. Overall, highs are smooth and have good cohesion with mid and low ranges despite being a multi-driver architecture.

Conclusion: AFUL Performer 5 is a great IEM at 219 USD with a solid build/design. It fits well (at least for me with small ears), with good isolation and balanced tonality. I might say a little more refinement and exciting sound would make it ideal. Nevertheless, a solid deal for the price if you are not into technicalities.

Initial Impressions of Dunu Kima after 24 hours of usage:
The silver-grey finish on the unit is stunning. It comes with a silver cable that is well-made and has a 3.5mm termination. It comes with three types of tips (foam, silicone (gel), and silicone (coloured), of which I preferred the coloured tips because they were more comfortable and sonically pleasing.

I perceived the tonality to be neutrally tuned with a slight bass boost. The lows were impactful and clean, and they don't seem boomy, which is likely due to the dual cavities. The mids sound good, but a little recessed for my tastes. So far, the highs were good but not spectacular. I had a feeling that the mids will bleed into the highs. But I gave it some more time and tried some high-energy songs to see how it goes.

Impressions of Dunu Kima after 5 days of usage:
The sub-bass rumble is sweet, impactful, fast, and slightly superior to the mid-bass. Despite tip rolling, the mids remain recessed for my liking; I wouldn't call them bad, but they could have been a little more forward. The mids did not appear to bleed after tip-rolling, which appears to be the case with gel-based tips. The highs had enough air, and I didn't notice any sibilance.

They are comfortable for long periods of listening and fit perfectly in my ear (please keep in mind that I have smaller ears and had no issues with fit). The timbre has been excellent, and I would give it an 8.5 out of 10. The soundstage is adequate for an IEM of this calibre, neither huge nor lacking, with decent resolution.

The review is based on using Roon (Offline FLACs) as a source via laptop onto an Audio Quest Cobalt at the same volume level for all tracks. Please keep in mind that I have used the stock cable and coloured stock tips with the unit.

Conclusion and What could have been better?
This is a great value single DD IEM that retails for $99 USD and has great dynamics. I'd say a little more mids-forward for a dynamic driver would have been ideal, but hey, I'm just nit-picking here and the logo on the shells did not appear to blend in with the silver finish.
