The functionality is fine, more of a feel that I'm not liking.  And i rather have it permanently 1/8 connected.

Go to your nearest electronic store and try a few to see what you like?  Your right, there are too many.  I'm on my fourth amp and still not 100% satisfied with any of them. Good luck!

Secondary market would be the best option.  That price range is difficult from what i have seen.  

Get one of those Crown Royal 1.75ml  purple bags.  They should fit nicely inside, at least the Grados' do.
