My Singlepower Supra Experience - Why mine almost blew up like a Hand Grenade (and yours might too)
I found some of the specs for my amp that I posted pics of. It is a 14 amp Extreme with Black Gate cathode capacitors. Revision B circuit. Hopefully this will help. Thanks, Stephen.- agreenspan

My Singlepower Supra Experience - Why mine almost blew up like a Hand Grenade (and yours might too)
Hi all, I've really enjoyed reading this thread. I purchased an extreme with upgrades last year - just moved and receipt with details is still packed . It has a big transformer in a square shaped housing that is mounted parallel to the chassis (not like a diamond when looking down at the top)...- agreenspan

McIntosh MA-6500 Headphone out jack
I just purchased a demo Singlepower PPX3 Extreme headphone amp. Now I can say that it far surpasses the headphone out jack on my MA6500. (of course it aint cheap either) The x-can held its own quite well considering the price, and the fact that the x-can is stereophile "class A rated" and sounds...- agreenspan

Amp reccomendations for HD-650 AND Grado RS-1?
I have thought about what would happen if I ever had to send the amp in for repair, since there is a warranty. I think that for some things, it might be better to send it to someone else (audioclassics for example) just for the piece of mind of not having to worry about waiting forever to get it...- agreenspan

Amp reccomendations for HD-650 AND Grado RS-1?
Also, just so everyone knows, I'm selling my Musical Fidelity X-can v3. I've only had it for a couple of weeks - I purchased it on AudiogoN from the original owner- who had it for almost a year, but was not using it often - he left it unplugged most of the time. It is in fantastic shape, and I...- agreenspan

Amp reccomendations for HD-650 AND Grado RS-1?
By the way, Mikhail was supposed to ship the amp using priority mail on Tuesday, but he's been really crazy busy, so it didn't go out until Wednesday night, which really counts as thursday. When he learned that I would not receive the amp until Monday where I live, he called his friends on the...- agreenspan

Amp reccomendations for HD-650 AND Grado RS-1?
WOW!!! You're not kidding! I just got my PPX extreme the other day. I LOVE it!! I'm so happy with it, and Mikhail is very nice and helpful. Now I can hear a BIG difference between the headphone jack on my mac MA6500 and the Extreme (I couldn't hear much of a difference at all with the Musical...- agreenspan

Grado and Sennheiser at a discount.
J&R is a great store. They have some of the best customer service in the industry, and a very generous return policy. By the way, its also a great place to buy MUSIC, including cd's AND VINYL!!! The vinyl is also cheaper on average compared to the prices at other places like acousticsounds...- agreenspan

Well, did some reading, talking, and learning - and soon - some "listening", and I'm getting a demo PPX extreme from Singlepower. Anyway, I'd still love to hear from anyone who has the MA6500 integrated.- agreenspan

Amp reccomendations for HD-650 AND Grado RS-1?
I have read some of the warnings about singlepower and their customer service issues, but that seems to be in the past (I hope). Anyway, this amp is a demo that is already existing - no need to wait. He's going to send it out on Tuesday by priority mail. Mikhail seems to be very nice and...- agreenspan

Grado and Sennheiser at a discount.
Just in case, I guess I should clarify: When I bought the Grados from audioclassics, the salesman was very friendly and said he "would sell them to me for that price "($550), so I don't see why they would not do it for others. I had purchased another item from them a few months before. They are...- agreenspan

Grado and Sennheiser at a discount.
that's true. If you buy sennheisers at J&r there is a rebate of up to $50 for the two audiophile high end phones, and less for the others. You just have to send in ANY pair of cans- working or not- even iPod buds, to get the rebate.- agreenspan

Hi everyone. I've purchased 2 new headphones in the past few months, for a substantial discount; so I figured I would share with everyone here. Grado RS-1 - brand new - purchased from Audioclassics(.com) for $550 ($150 savings. Sennheiser HD-650 - brand new - purchased from J&R (jr.com)...- agreenspan

McIntosh MA-6500 Headphone out jack
Hi everyone. I need some advice. I have a McIntosh MA-6500 integrated amplifier with a headphone out jack. I have 2 pairs of headphones; Grado RS-1 and Sennheiser HD650 (opposite ends of the impedance scale). I have been using the McIntosh to drive the headphones and have been enjoying them...- agreenspan

Amp reccomendations for HD-650 AND Grado RS-1?
So you really think the headphone out on the mac would sound just as good as the Woo Audio WA6-SE? And its good for both the high and low impedance phones? That would save a bunch of $$$. I can't find any info on the circuitry or specs for the MA6500 integrated amp headphone out jack. Even...- agreenspan

Amp reccomendations for HD-650 AND Grado RS-1?
I think the x-can v3 sounds great. I just don't think its better than the headphone out jack on my McIntosh MA6500 integrated amplifier. I was hoping that by going to the WA6-SE, I would hear a substantial improvement....?- agreenspan

Amp reccomendations for HD-650 AND Grado RS-1?
I did get the little pinkie recently and it did not work. My x-can would not power on with it. It was deffective, so I am sending it back. Jack at WooAudio emailed me and told me to get the WA6-SE. He said it was better than an upgraded WA6. Does this amp get very hot? Hotter than the x-can...- agreenspan
