Audeze LCD-2 cable tearing up. Audeze CS is a joke
Has anyone else had issues with the cable sleeve breaking apart on the Audeze LCD headphones? I bought my Audeze LCD-2 Classics brand new a couple of months ago and despite careful use, one of the cable sleeves has began to tear apart. They work just fine, but I'm not utterly happy about this...- thegen

More budget friendly DAC from Chord?
I would like to post this poll to see if people would be interested in a more budget friendly DAC from Chord. I for one would really want something in the price range of the Mojo. But as a D/A converter only, without batteries or amplification. Perhaps a little baby brother to the Qutest, maybe...- thegen

Question about audio settings PS4
I'm not sure which settings would be right for my Pro-Ject DAC Box FL and my PS4. I am using Toslink between the two but the settings does confuse me. I can choose Linear PCM, Bitstream or AAC. Which is the right setting for my setup?- thegen

Schiit Modi 3 (non MB) or Pro-Ject DAC Box FL?
Currently rocking with at Pro-Ject DAC Box FL. I would like to get something else though and my thoughts lean towards the Modi 3. Would this be any better than my current setup? I do need atleast an optical input and everything else is a bonus. The Multibit is above my budget at the moment..- thegen

Pro-Ject DAC Box FL S/PDIF question
Just got an used Pro-Ject DAC Box FL. When I connected the S/PDIF cable to my computer and the DAC itself I noticed that the connector seems wobbly on the DAC side, while it's snug as hell on my I/O on the PC. I've never used S/PDIF before, is this common? It all works great and it does not cut...- thegen

Schiit Asgard 3 - Impressions Thread
I see! I have no external DAC at the moment. Using the headphone out from my PC. But when I get the DAC, I assume the volume will change aswell. Depending on the line out voltage from the DAC is that correct?- thegen

Schiit Asgard 3 - Impressions Thread
I have the A3 with LCD-2C and I can crank the volume up to just below 50%, after that it gets too loud. I have my OS volume at 100%. Would I benefit from turning down my OS volume in order to be able to use 70% of the pot on the amplifier?- thegen

Amplifier power on makes my display go all black
Everytime I turn on my amplifier using the switch at the back, my LCD display goes all black for a split second before the image gets back. I can't say I am worried, this is probably due to the short distance between my display and my Schiit Asgard 3, which is about 8 inches or so due to lack of...- thegen

Lack of power, harmful?
Thank you both for such in depth answers! I will probably wait for the Asgard 3 which I hope will work well with these cans. I use Spotify with the highest quality. I did switch to my Shure IEM's and could hear the same noise with them. I remeber hearing these with my previous gear aswell...- thegen

Amp recommendations for Audeze LCD-2
Yes, seems like it. I'll most likely end up with the Asgard 3, though I haven't decided for a DAC just yet. I'll be needing S/PDIF so the 4490 module won't do it. The Bifrost 2 seems nice and would fit like a gloove with the A3 but prices here in europe are nuts. The Bifrost 2 is $960. Perhaps...- thegen

Lack of power, harmful?
I am really sorry if this has been sorted out before, I could not find any definitive answers though. I have a pair of LCD-2C's which "require" above 100mW of power. Now I don't have a dedicated amplifier just yet, but will be getting one closer to christmas. Can I safely use my onboard...- thegen

Amp recommendations for Audeze LCD-2
I figured I'll have to wait for the amp before doing anymore listening, they sound so damn flat and bad out of my onboard output, even though it is supposed to have a "good" amplifier. The LCD-X however, sounded damn good, lots of low end power. Unfortunately the wait will extend to after...- thegen

Amp recommendations for Audeze LCD-2
Just got my LCD-2C after waiting for about a month. Meanwhile I had the LCD-X's on loan. Where the hell is the low-end?! There is almost no bass, or atleast not nearly as much as there was with the LCD-X's. They had a ton of low-end candy. Is 20Ohms really that much easier to drive than 70Ohms...- thegen

Amp recommendations for Audeze LCD-2
Thats to bad, I thought it would be a good match for the LCD’s. It is somewhat bothersome to find amplifiers matching what I seek in Sweden, even in europe for that matter. I dislike everything made in China and all real powerhouses like Violectric cost a fortune. Those that might not cost a...- thegen

Audeze LCD-2C or the LCD-X with new headband?
I can't really decide which to get. I've only heard the LCD-X which I really liked. But it is somewhat expensive and honestly way over my budget since I'll have to buy an amplifier, aswell as a DAC. JDS Labs EL DAC and EL AMP that is. I live in Sweden so the prices are somewhat nuts. LCD-2C...- thegen

JDS Labs EL Amp impressions
I am really intrested in the EL AMP to run with my LCD-2C. Some reviewers claim it is a bit dark sounding but very neutral in the same way. How are the highs on the 2C along with the EL AMP, compared to the other amps you mentioned?- thegen

Thought I'd be getting the Schiit stack for a long time but, I accidentally came across some reviews of the JDS Labs EL DAC and EL AMP. The looks of those things stacked together... oh my.. They are twice the price unfortunatley. I'll have to save some for a decent DAC/AMP aswell so. Way above my budget :)- thegen
