What is the Saddest song ever written?
Besides the fact that the soloing is out of this world, it's pretty sad too. -
MEElectronics M6 Review
@cnhardwick, I have the same issue, i'm curious wheiter there's a cure for this. I just got the m6 and I am running some pink- and whitenoise through them. First impressions were not very good: Muffled sound and the bass to dominant within the soundspectrum. I've never been a believer of...- Smoke

Need some hardcore techno.
What about these guys? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6PviFr2niLs&feature=related. Are you familiar with the genre Happy Hardcore? If not, you should really explore that. Btw this is not today's real hardcore, the dance-genre I mean. This... -
Matt Bellamy (Muse) or Thom Yorke (Radiohead) is/was a better singer? - Only Voice and vocal abilities
I somehow can't listen to Muse because of the inhaling of Matt Bellamy. I do like Yorke's voice on the other hand. To me he sounds more sincere. -
Distortion on Massive Attack's Angel : recording or system ?
The first part is a real good reference point for the low frequencies imo. I do think that there's a bit of distortion but it's still an excellent way to check out how your system handles the heavy-bass. Also check out the at 6:00-6:20 bit. Is it me or is it heavier, but at the same time...- Smoke

Duke Ellington - Blues in Orbit (MFSL). Quite unbelievable for such an old recording IMO. Everything is there: The highs, mids, lows en very nice soundstage. -
post your HD650 setup
PC -> uDac -> Dual CV120 (Vintage Hifi-amplifier) The Dual is feeding my HD 650 surprisingly well, better then my Hifiman EF2 for sure.- Smoke

HiFiMan EF2 w/ 650s?
I use this combination. I'm very pleased with it. I use the Nuforce uDac instead of the standard EF2 DAC though. The sound for me is definitely not dark and veiled. I don't have another desktop headphone amp to compare it with but I feel the EF2 is capable of driving the HD 650 well...- Smoke

Coloured pads for the hd25
I had these coloured pads on my hd-25. There's noticable less isolation compared to the sennheiser replacing velour pads. The inner material is different. Instalation was also more difficult compared to the sennheiser velours which seem to be build like the original pleather one's...- Smoke

Sennheiser HD650 & Massdrop HD6XX Impressions Thread
Just bought the HD 650 because curiosity got the best of me. Coming from the HD 595. Wow, what can I say? It's twice the price of the HD 595, but it's not twice as good. Was it worth it? ABSOLUTELY! btw: my Hifiman EF2 seems to drive them really wel!- Smoke

Headphone amplifier for HD 595
I'm using the Hifiman EF2 DAC/amp with my HD 595 right now. Nice combo IMO. The HD 595 isn't really bass-heavy but I really do think proper amplification brings out better and more detailed bass. It's a Tube amplifier and to me the warm tube sound is a good combination with the sound...- Smoke

REVIEW: Head-direct.com HiFiMan EF2 tube Hybrid Amp with USB DAC
Hello EF2 users, I'm currently using the Sennheiser HD 25-1 II and the Sennheiser HD 595 in combination with the Ibasso D2. When I'm using the DAC in combination with the HD 595 I'm not really getting a lot of bass. Will the EF2 give a better representation of the lower frequencies on my HD...- Smoke

The HD 595 is now underway! That dedicated amp you're suggestion will be something for the future and the same goes for the HD 650. For now the Ibasso D2 will stay at my side. Thanks for the advice!- Smoke

hello fellow D2 owners! I'm thinking about a headphone upgrade. Would the D2 be able to drive the Sennheiser HD650 are would it be better to try the HD595? Thanks!- Smoke

Sennheiser HD 530 II
Ok, that I can understand. But I'm just curious how they would hold up against sennheiser headphones of today like the HD 555 and HD 595. I'm guessing that they aren't really comparable with the higher-end HD 600 and HD 650.- Smoke

Sennheiser HD 530 II
Ok thanks for clearing that up! Well since you seem to be a Sennheiser expert, what could possibly be a comparable headphone that you recommend? . That considering the fact that I have a limited source ( = Winamp -> Ibasso D2 Boa DAC (which is able to drive the Hd 530 II pretty well though)) ...- Smoke
