someone suggested to set 5.1 in windows and 2.1 in creative audio console. Eax on, cmss off, crystalizer off. Do these settings sound right?

I am trying to setup my new headset with the xtremegamer fatal1ty soundcard I have for gaming. In the speaker selection should I set them as headphone, 5.1, or 7.1? Also should I turn on cmss-3d? How about the crystalizer? Also should I have them synchronized with the windows control panel?

What are the best settings for gaming in the x-fi xtremegamer soundcard? I play cod4 and its really critical to hear the enemy before he hears you. Does turning eax, cmss-3d, crystalizer on off help?

Is there a really big difference between the ad500 and ad700 in quality? I am going to be using the headphones for gaming. Right now I only have enough for the ad500. Is the difference in quality that big that I should save up more for the ad700?

Titles says it all. My main concern is gaming then music. I understand one is open and the other isn't but thats about it. Which is better for positional audio since I will be using them for call of duty 4 mainly.
