    Best Sounding Tablet?

I have the PlayBook, and I do agree that it has great sound. I was pleasantly surprised. From what I read on crackberry.com "Playbook's WM8994E Wolfson Audio DAC has a hardware parametric EQ and a capless class W headphone amp" So hopefully someone can make an app to help the PlayBook reach its...

    HiFiMan 801 needs repair.

Hello Fang,   I emailed your company twice and have heard nothing in replay. I need my headphone jack replaced because I accidentally broke it. I don't mind paying for a repair as long as the price is reasonable.  I love your product and I'm mad that I broke my HiFiMan.  How do I go about...

Ordered HM-801. Have question or two.

I love my HM-801.  It is my best sounding piece of equipment.  I have listened to every other player and own way too many music players.  HIFiman is the best.  I baby mine, so it does not leave the house.   Head Fi  is a good company to work with.  Fang has always worked with me without much...

Ganqi Amp Module for Earphones (GAME card)

These are observations I have made over the last week of listening. The GAME card does sound different, but in reality I have no real proof other than my observations.   I listened really carfully to try and find differences before and after and I think I used about the same volume for...

Ganqi Amp Module for Earphones (GAME card)

Sweeter highs, better (crisper, less muddy) bass and better channel separation.  At least that’s what I think.

Ganqi Amp Module for Earphones (GAME card)

Question: Will the GAME card drive 50ohm headphones?  I have some Senn 555's that I like to use.  They are rated @ 50 ohm and I would still like to use them when I am tired of wearing the IEM's.   Thanks.

HiFiMAN HM-801 Player Firmware Debug Thread

Really great sound makes up for any shortcomings of the firmware. It's the best sounding DAP you can buy, and sound is more important than form or function. I am very satisfied with their product and customer service.

BRICKED! Lets try again. Left front button can scroll through the menu's but other than that it's bricked! Damn! Can anyone tell me what files are in their flash drive directory. Maybe I accidentally a deleted a file or hidden file or something or who the hell knows what happened...

Now That I have the Earphones, Which iPod-like player produces the best sound? Please Help...

Cowon S9 is my thought. Cowon players sound great and have powerful amps that can help properly drive headphones. If you have a kidney for sale, then I would suggest the HiFiMan. I have it and it is the best sounding portable player out there IMHO. It might be a good idea to bring your...

HiFiMAN HM-801 Player Firmware Debug Thread

Fang, you should consider using the new MP3hd format. Easier to name and use files and we would not have to use .cue files for lossless.

HiFiMAN HM-801 Player Firmware Debug Thread

Anyone know of a program that will join Flac files into one big flac file and also make a cue file (or files) of that one big flac file. Example Lets say I have the goldberg variations and I want them to play gapless, so I make one big flac file, but then I want to hear Goldberg Variations...

    Head-direct major trouble :(

I really worried a lot too when I ordered my HiFiMAN 801 from Fang. $600.00 and I was afraid because he is just a name on a website that I would end up loosing my money. Well, I WAS WRONG! The HiFiMAN is fantastic, and when I had a bit of trouble he called me on the phone himself to help me...

HiFiMAN HM-801 Player Firmware Debug Thread

First of all I love my HiFiMAN and would be willing to live with it the way it is, but I would really like to have better firmware. Every player except the HiFiMAN can play my flac files without a problem. HiFiMAN seems to have a hard time handeling the file names and playing the files in...

Updated: HifiMAN HM-801 Portable Music Player Preorder

I don't know if this would happen, but I would love to know what important chips are in the HiFiMAN and also what they do and perhaps why they were chosen. I am asking an awful lot, but I am just a bit curious.

Recommend me some music with ridiculously wide dynamic range

Classic Rock "Amused To Death" by Roger Waters. I love that CD, but you have to listen to it in a quite room. Definitely not a car CD. As a matter of fact most of his CD are very well mastered IMHO, at least for classic rock.

Updated: HifiMAN HM-801 Portable Music Player Preorder

I have used my HiFiMAN with Senn HD600's. I really like the way they sound with the HiFiMAN, but I do prefer them with the HiFiMAN's output to my headphone amp. I have a Little Country III. For straight listening from the HiFiMAN I like using my Senn 555's. Those headphones have supprised me...

    Hifiman 801 Appreciation thread

You can use the HiFiMAN 801 as a DAP or DAC for a computer via USB or Coaxial. It has a deticated out line with a really great flat response. If you use the deticated out line and pair it with a really good headphone amp (not portable) the 801 sounds even better. Think of it as replacing...
