A few minor problems with my Millet Minimax
I've had my Minimax built for more than a year, and it's been working great for the most part. A few recent problems that I'd like to look into though. 1. One of my tube lights does not come on very often; sometimes it comes on only after the amp has been on for a while. Very...- nate911

Which DIY Amp for HD650/DT880?
I'm trying to decide whether to purchase the DT880/600 or HD650...and I want to just buy both and compare them--return the one I don't want. Only problem is I'd like to have a good amp (all I have is a mini^3 now) to A/B them so I get an accurate comparison. What's a good amp to build for either...- nate911

Upgrade headphones for $200-300?
I'm looking to upgrade from my AD700s to something a bit more high-end. I've had these 'phones for almost a year so I'm itching to get new ones. I'm asking for them for my birthday (Sept 11) and my budget is around $200-300 (flexible though). I listen to most genres of music (except...- nate911

Looking for new IEMs (~$80)
I'm looking to get some new IEMs for portable use... I listen to a lot of genres--mainly rock, rap, dubstep/techno/etc. I already have a mini^3 for an amp so amplification isn't really a problem. Budget is around $80 (flexible), but cheaper is fine too, I just want a good bang for the buck...- nate911

Problem with Mini3 :(
I accidentally installed my battery contacts the wrong way...and I tried to desolder them. In the process I ripped out one of the pads (maybe two) of the six pads on the PCB for the contacts. Is there any way to fix this or will I have to buy another whole set of parts? :(- nate911

What to build next?
I just finished my Cmoy (from tangent)...where should I go from here? I was thinking of maybe either a Pimetav2 or a mini^3 (or possibly a bantam/grub DAC? I want to build one of those eventually). What would be the next step? I don't want to jump to anything too expensive in case I mess...- nate911

Cmoy testing-is this right?
(See post #20) I just tested my Cmoy amp by using alligator clips and I got sound! But the bass is really lacking and the sound is a little tinny, is that normal (because I'm using clips?) or did I do something wrong? Will this clear up when I wire up the panel components or should I...- nate911

How to fix Yuin PK2s?
My Yuin PK2 only works out of one channel and I'm almost positive the plug's broken (when I move the cable around near the plug sometimes I get a short noise). Are there any suggestions for a low-profile 3.5mm plug? I don't need a right-angle one, just not a huge one. And how would I tell...- nate911

Cmoy parts...
I'm about to order my soldering equipment and might as well order my Cmoy parts too On Tangent's part list, he recommends getting a resistor to have a gain of 11..which I know is really high. Instead of 11, what gain do you think I should get? (It'll be hooked up to IEMs/AD700 possibly...so...- nate911

IEM suggestions ~$75 (RE0 or something else?)
I'm looking to upgrade my IEMs... (currently have Marshmallows ) I listen to primarily rock then techno/trance/dubstep...I listen to nearly every genre but mainly those mentioned (So I guess I'll like an IEM that's decent at most kinds of music). I've heard the RE0s mentioned tons of...- nate911

Headphone Amps to look at?
Basically, I want an amp to drive any future headphones I get. Currently, I have AD700s and listen to most genres of music, mainly rock and techno/dubstep/etc. My budget is flexible--something bang for the buck, $150-$200? I'm not really sure... Here's my thread on headphone upgrade options...- nate911

Headphone upgrade from ATH-AD700
Hey, I have AD700s hooked up to an X-fi xtremegamer sound card. I want to upgrade... I've heard the AD700 doesn't benefit that much from an amp. So, I think a headphone upgrade would be nice (unless you think a need a DAC or amp b/c of the soundcard). My budget is fairly flexible--around...- nate911

Amp/DAC or a better sound card or better headphones?
Hi, I'm looking to upgrade my computer audio... I have AD700s for headphones and a X-fi Xtremegamer sound card. What would be the benefits of having an amp/DAC versus a sound card? If I am going to upgrade my sound card, it would be the Asus Xonar Esssence STX. I was also looking at...- nate911

Best Headset/Phone+Mic on a Budget?
I am looking for a headset or headphones and the Zalman clip-on mic; I want to try and keep the price below $100. I mainly play FPS games, although I am leaning towards the combo because I occasionally listen to music. What would you guys recommend?- nate911

ATH-AD700 vs DR150
I'm deciding between these two headphones. I game, and really listen to all types of music (except country ). Is it really worth the extra money to get the DR150s? Or will I be better off getting the ATH-AD700? EDIT: What about the HD555?- nate911

Which headphones to get???
Hi, I'm new here, been trying to think about what headphones I should get. I have already decided to purchase shortly the Yuin PK2 for earphones. Yet, I am still undecided about headphones, I am mainly considering the HD555s, DR150s, and maybe the AT ATH-700s. Sound leakage isn't really...- nate911
