Funny thing happened today while I was listening to music: I was having fun with some tunes (new Kara owner here). :)

I now own a Kara. It sounds very good driving 1) my active Yamaha speakers or 2) my AHB2 power amp feeding a pair of Triangle speakers. I'm using it in passive mode and x4 gain mode.

As a newbie I had to double check what that XLR connector was all about. It is a 4 pin XLR connector and I had to double check all that when I ordered my balanced cable for my Neumann headphones. So my query is this: do you have a 4 pin XLR cable? I know, newbie question, at least for me.

I haven't read everything since we are exchanging messages, but have you tried reversing the AC blades of the RME ADI-2's power supply plugged into your power conditioner. It's a long shot, but if you haven't tried it, it is something I would try....you know, leave no stone unturned.

It’s not a huge improvement, but it certainly showcases how good the Midgard can be! Now that I use the NDh-30 headphones, I cannot go backwards; now that I have sampled HALO, I won’t go backwards. PS: for what it’s worth, I thought Modius E sounded great with Midgard.

From the flank, I wonder if anyone has the ability to compare Pietus vis-à-vis Midgard using the Halo output. I did note an improvement in soundstage depth with Halo; although not perfect, it does cast another positive light on the Midgard.

I use the RME-ADi 2 dac FS s my main dac. It has features I need. The Modiu (e) as a dac only was as good sound wise as the RmE. A little different but no better no worse. It’s gonna be hard to beat for the price.
