First setup
Just to throw a wrench into the works, I recently put together a nice little setup for my PC at work: PC USB > Total Bithead > HD595 or HD280Pro (using the pros only when the folks nearby get too loud :-). I love this setup, and the total cost was $325 after a bit of shopping around. Giles...- giles

HD595 price alert - $99
I called the local Virgin Megastore here in FL. They told me the Virgin store in Colorado recently closed, and they sent all of their Sennheiser stock to other locations, closing them out for $99. Amazing cans, especially for $99! Drippydonut - thanks for the heads-up!- giles

Well, I just ordered a pair of the HD280s for $52 (refurb). I'm hoping they'll be good enough for those times when I really need to seal out the world. The rest of the time I'll be using the HD580s.- giles

Best IEM for 50-100 dollars?
Have you considered the Sennheiser CX300B? I picked up a pair from Circuit City a couple weeks back for $51. LOTS of bass. I use them w/ my ZVM and have to use EQ to turn the bass down. Giles- giles

Senn HD-420SL vs. modern cans?
Hi all, Been lurking here for a while and thought I'd jump in. I've got a pair of 420s from 1986 or so. I use them daily at the office, and they are still working great after 20+ years. I recently purchased a Total Bithead to drive them from my PC, and that really brought new life to them...- giles
