Have you had a chance of trying HD6xx balanced cabled with HPA-3B? Or any other hp. I just bought a HPA-3B because it is a ss amp and balanced capabilty. I build an adapter for MDR Z7 balanced cable to listen in it's XLR output.

On my amp this is the pinout written on the case. I do not know for other amps.

On the amp side, my amp SMSL sap9 has XLR 4 pinout as follows: Pin 1 :Left + signal Pin 2: Left - signal (ground) Pin 3: Right + signal Pin 4: Right - signal (ground) the Z7 cup has a 3.5 mm connector pinout: Tip :+ signal Ring: - signal. The shield is not used.

Little Dot website has a list of products and price. Also being in Australia prices for shipping will vary. Buying something in $US money is a killer for both Canadian and Australian due to exchange rate. As regard LD MK tube amp you cannot go wrong with MKIII or IV.

You will have a large choice of amp under $1K. My own setup is all Little Dot: CDP1-DAC_1-MKIVSE-HD6XX. Volume and sound quality is no problem with my setup! I was lucky I got this package of LD used for under $500.

There is a small hiss when I move the volume controls towards the low volume , like if there is dust in the pot at some places. I have put both volume controls to the max and control the volume with the source.
