I have a Pontus 2 and I have never noticed heat from it. To be fair I've never put my hand under the thing while using it. The top and front are always cool enuff.

Class A = Heat.

For me the critical point here is if you buy this (Arce) then adding a DDC shouldn't give any incremental performance (according to Vinshine) - which is probably true of most dedicated streaming devices.

It's a pity you only have 24 hours to try it - doesn't sound like it will do the unit justice. I have been saving for an Artemis to go with my Pontus 2. If you have any thoughts on it compared to the Oor I would be interested as I have heard good things and they are in the same price bracket...

Annoying. Alvin has a good rep for support. Hoping you get a solution quickly. A cap should be fairly easy to replace.

Thanks. Most of my usage will be balanced as well but I do have some hard-wired single-ended cans that ideally, I won't need (want) a separate amp for.
