I have a Pontus 2 and I have never noticed heat from it. To be fair I've never put my hand under the thing while using it. The top and front are always cool enuff.- PaulLovesMusic

For me the critical point here is if you buy this (Arce) then adding a DDC shouldn't give any incremental performance (according to Vinshine) - which is probably true of most dedicated streaming devices.- PaulLovesMusic

It's a pity you only have 24 hours to try it - doesn't sound like it will do the unit justice. I have been saving for an Artemis to go with my Pontus 2. If you have any thoughts on it compared to the Oor I would be interested as I have heard good things and they are in the same price bracket...- PaulLovesMusic

Annoying. Alvin has a good rep for support. Hoping you get a solution quickly. A cap should be fairly easy to replace.- PaulLovesMusic

Thanks. Most of my usage will be balanced as well but I do have some hard-wired single-ended cans that ideally, I won't need (want) a separate amp for.- PaulLovesMusic

Too early to tell I think. I'm giving them some burn in time before I spend too much time with them. Re comparison - this is my first set of headphones in a while (more of a speaker man til recently). I also got an Arya Stealth on a trial so I will be able to give some impressions relative to...- PaulLovesMusic

R26 is a new one to me. Will check it out. Curious as to why you went with that R2R solution vs continuing with the Denafrips line given you have the Artemis?- PaulLovesMusic

Just pulled the trigger on a home trial for the Arya Stealth. Don't have a fantastic chain but hopefully enough to get a good feel for the sound signature.- PaulLovesMusic

That's a serious cable you have there in the Vallhalla 2! That cable must cost almost as much as the DAC + Amp?- PaulLovesMusic
