    Upgrading My Audio Equipment?

I don't use my speakers so much because I share the house with others and don't often have a chance to use them at a volume I'd like. I mainly use them for gaming. Are the Razer Mako considered trash on this forum? Or are you simply saying I can get much better without breaking the bank?

    Upgrading My Audio Equipment?

My speakers I rarely use for music, I mainly use headphones for music. I am happy with my R70X headphones but if upgrading them would give a big difference, perhaps that is something I will do in the future. However, making this thread, I think I will keep things as they are for now. I was...

    Upgrading My Audio Equipment?

The Darkvoice 336SE OTL tube headphone amplifier; I heard I should avoid tube amps for my specific headphones as it can ruin the sound by making it too warm. Any truth on this? I remember reading on this forum about a guy who tried a tube amp on the R70X and said the neutral sound of the...

    Upgrading My Audio Equipment?

I do a mixture of gaming and music listening on my desktop computer, with the occasional movie thrown in. I mainly use headphones but the speakers do get some use occasionally. Both headphones and speakers are plugged into my amp. I am using the following for audio: Headphones = Audio–Technica...

Portable Amp (& DAC ?) for Audio Technica ATH-R70X Headphoines & Smartphone

I think I decided on the Aune B1 (2016 version). Where can I purchase this from the UK? I can't find anywhere and the one on Amazon UK I think is the 2015 version. I will get a C5 if I can't find a B1 for sale.

Portable Amp (& DAC ?) for Audio Technica ATH-R70X Headphoines & Smartphone

Well this is disappointing. I guess I will have to pick one myself based on reviews but some recommendations would really be appreciated.

    Audio-Technica ATH-R70x - In-Depth Review & Impressions

The A700 doesn't have a 6.3mm plug, it has a 3.55mm plug. I used the adapter that came with the R70X and put it on the A700. The A700 sound fine when not plugged into the amp. Not a big deal, maybe it just doesn't like the amp.

    Audio-Technica ATH-R70x - In-Depth Review & Impressions

I borrowed some cables from a friend now I got my amp hooked up. It sounds nice and a certain upgrade from my A700s. Gaming sounds better too with this amp and a little extra bass in the Creative software. When I plug my A700s into the amp though, they sound horrible, as if some parts of the...

Portable Amp (& DAC ?) for Audio Technica ATH-R70X Headphoines & Smartphone

Hi, I recently purchased the Audio Technica ATH-R70X headphones with a Magni 2 Uber AMP (DAC is my Titanium HD sound card) for desktop use. I would like to buy a portable amp and possible built in DAC for use with my Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge smartphone. I don't know if it would be worth it to buy...

    Audio-Technica ATH-R70x - In-Depth Review & Impressions

I have an EQ on the Creative software that came with my sound card. The amp arrived today (Magni 2 Uber) but unfortunately I am still waiting for the RCA cables!! So frustrating that I have all the equipment except some cables. I accidently ordered from an Amazon UK marketplace seller who is...

Anyone can help with my question about gaming on page 70?

    Audio-Technica ATH-R70x - In-Depth Review & Impressions

I heard the headphones have a few flaws that can be improved by altering an EQ. My sound card has software to alter the EQ. I read and saved a post that said "3dB more emphasis from 20-100 Hz to beef up the low end" I have a 31Hz and 62Hz on my EQ but i'm not sure if I should be increasing or...

    Audio-Technica ATH-R70x - In-Depth Review & Impressions

Does anyone have any recommendations on configuing an EQ for these headphones? I have one in the Creative software on my Titanium HD soundcard.

    Audio-Technica ATH-R70x - In-Depth Review & Impressions

I read these headphones are comfortable, is that not the case? New pads by Brainwavz give more sub-bass but does it negatively affect other parts?

    Audio-Technica ATH-R70x - In-Depth Review & Impressions

Wouldn't different pads change how the headphones sound? Why would you want to do that?

    Audio-Technica ATH-R70x - In-Depth Review & Impressions

I have A700 and they are AD1000x so it doesn't unfortunately help me with a comparison :(

    Audio-Technica ATH-R70x - In-Depth Review & Impressions

I just ordered a pair of ATH-R70x for £209 (I'm in the UK). Unfortunately the Magni 2 Uber amp is out of stock so I will have to use them unamped for the time being when they arrive. It should be an upgrade from my ATH-A700 (not AD700 or A700x)

    Audio-Technica ATH-R70x - In-Depth Review & Impressions

I plug my speakers into the headphone port (2nd port on my sound card). I then plug my A700s into the headphone port of the speakers control pod. I control the volume of the speakers and headphones with the control pod. I heard it doesn't matter if I use 3.5m connection or RCA. Both the...

    Headphone Upgrade? (Audio Technica ATH-A700)

That's my plan but I heard it cause could trouble with the Razer Mako control pod. Something about both the amp and the control pod controlling the volume. Anyway that's my plan, thanks!

    Audio-Technica ATH-R70x - In-Depth Review & Impressions

According to to ROBSCIX on this forum and guys on Hard forum, my sound cards headphone port does not have an amp. I'll quote ROBSCIX     At the bottom of page 1 http://www.head-fi.org/t/519358/x-fi-titanium-hd-headphone-amp   Doesn't matter to me either way though.

    Audio-Technica ATH-R70x - In-Depth Review & Impressions

I did some reading shortly after asking that question but I think you're wrong regarding the amp. The Titanium HD has a headphone port but it is not amped. I will get the Magni 2 Uber regardless as it probably will allow me louder volumes and better quality sound.   So the way you suggest...

    Headphone Upgrade? (Audio Technica ATH-A700)

Thanks for your reply and eBay link but I live in the UK and I'd rather buy new audio equipment rather than used. So from another thread I am participating in, I am thinking of getting an Audio-Technica ATH-R70x with a Magni 2 Uber amp. This should allow me to use both my headphones and speakers...

    Audio-Technica ATH-R70x - In-Depth Review & Impressions

All this is all new to me and I am a complete noob with amps and dacs.   What happens if I plug the R70x headphones into my mako speakers control pod or at the back of my sound card without an amp? Doesn't my sound card have a built in amp? I just want to get the full potential out of the R70x...

    Audio-Technica ATH-R70x - In-Depth Review & Impressions

I have the ATH-A700 (not the AD700 and not the A700x) which are closed. After reading lots of pages about the headphones in this price range, I have decided on the R70x over the HD600, HD650, HD700 and various AKG models. I read the DAC on my Creative X-FI Titanium HD sound card is pretty...

    Headphone Upgrade? (Audio Technica ATH-A700)

The headphones would go into the headphone jack but where would the Razer Mako speakers plug in to? How would I have my headphones and speakers plugged into my sound card at the same time while amping the headphones? Sorry, I am a newbie with all this :(
