Literally everyone i've showed my Grados to has loved the sound. Even my girl friend who is usually totally not into audiophilia. That does of course not mean everyone in the world will love them but maybe your estimation of what the average listener likes is a little off because all the people...

The difference between most Grado headphones and 'other' headphones is baffling. I am so used to pronounced treble by now that even my new Hemp sounds muffled to me. My girl friend thinks the same. There really must be worlds between how we Grado fiends perceive the sound of a headphone and 'the...

So the Hemp has a very nice and very engaging bassment and also prat. Just the higher highs are missing for me. Is any of the X Grados perfect in the way that they sound like a Hemp but with really nice 'e' level treble?

Got me a cheap Hemp. It has yet to be 'burnt in' but it's really a different sound compared to the e era. Very lively and punchy with big detailed bottom. Sadly missing the high treble, something i have to get used to or eq it away. Also seems to work well with L pads which cures the high...

Are there any grounds to your feeling? Had a look at the page and i think the family history text is not very well written, many repeating words, my English teacher would not have been happy. As for the missing photo: they probably have to take a new one with Richard?

Indeed, too bad we humans get used to everything so quickly and always want 'more and better' :)

Yet again edited with my lastest findings and also added the SR80X *************************************************************************************************************** Finally did a full comparison of all of my Grado headphones. Maybe it's helpful to someone torturing his brain...

My findings were that the Nyczaj pads sounded more or less like F pads. They had indeed good treble and bass but kinda put the middle range in cotton wool. In my humble ears. (They're very comfy in any case!)

Got rid of that 6,3mm jack and replaced it with 3,5mm, so no more need for the adapter which as it turns out eats some of the sound quality. Now the RS1 sounds even better than before. Yes, it's really noticeable.

I got mine for 450 bucks some months ago, but i was lucky i guess. There are none on Ebay right now so start at 599 or so, depending on how urgent you need money. Or keep them, they are one of a kind.

I have to turn the iPod a little louder with the RS1 but there's still plenty of headroom. I tried around an extensive amount of time and for my iPod Classic 7th generation the RS1 button is the best 🤷🏻‍♂️

I noticed today that the SR80x with S pads works very nicely with the iPod Classic. RS1 button is still better but if i was stuck with the iPod and the 80x i wouldn't be sad. iPod and GH2 worked very well, too. SR325e/PS500e/RS2e were on the boring side with the iPod. It's really weird how...

"Review" of the SR80x after 150 hours of "burn in" As mentioned before it sounded quite mundane like a Sony at the beginning. Not bad per se but nothing really special with some hints of Grado. Now after 150 hours things have improved considerably. It can be used with S pads or L pads. Not...

SR80x update after about 50 hours of 'burn in': They don't sound like Sonys anymore, thank God! Still using L pads and with a Mojo 1 and from the iPad Pro line-out they sound quite good now, typical Grado sound, quite balanced with a slight tilt towards sibilance (but that's the L's fault i...

Geekria donuts are indeed capable pads as they sound like Ls with a tiny treble taming and bass boost. And they're comfy.

I disagree, it's just the opposite for me. The Mojo EQ can really help but pad rolling usually just kills the magic Grado treble or bloats the bass. YMMV.

First impressions of the SR80x after some hours 'burn-in': The S pads sound too muffled for my taste, F pads are even more muffled and bassy. With L pads they sound fine. Treble is pretty tame but Grado-like. Bass is way more pronounced than in the pre-X era but also less detailed, borderline...

Look what the cat dragged in! Got them used (but as new with box) from a local seller for 80 bucks. Now let's see/hear what this X sound is all about

Even with a half dead batty the Mojo is a steal at below 200 bucks used right now on Ebay. The cheapest Mojo 2 begin at about double that price.
