SONY IER-Z1R
I have AKG N5005, Westone W80, I tried beyerdynamic Xelento and Sony IER-M9. All of them are more comfortable than IER-Z1R. Xelento is the most comfortable one, W80 is also good. Even M9 is better than Z1R. The Z1R's shape is optimized for sound, not for ears, and Z1R is quite heavy. Z1R sounds...- hehifi

SONY IER-Z1R
I don't want to take the risk for a $1,700 IEM if it may not work for me. I expect an IEM designed for my ears, not my ears get used to the IEM 😂- hehifi

SONY IER-Z1R
Agreed! I believe good fit tips can affect more than the customized cables in sound. However, IER-Z1R is not that comfortable for wearing. It costs a lot, I should deserve a better wearing experience. so I finally decide to return it... Enjoying wireless Airpods max now...- hehifi

Sorry for misunderstanding your statement. Yes the lightening to 3.5 mm adapter is good because it is cheap and compact. However, the adapter cannot fully drive your shure iem, if you have chance you can compare it with an external DAC.- hehifi

Best noise cancelling headphones?
I used the ANC earphones: SONY 1000XM3, AirPods Max and AirPods Pro. If you need to wear all day, AirPods Pro are most comfortable, it is light. AirPods Max and 1000XM3 are more durable since they have larger batteries. Airpods Max sounds batter than 1000XM3, but it is much more expensive. If...- hehifi

Headphones under 500$
AKG N5005 is very well tuned reference IEM, which matches the ideal Harman Target Curve very well, the soundstage is wide, treble is clear high resolution, only drawback the mid is not that great. It is suitable for classic music. There are several N5005 on eBay are under $500.- hehifi

AirPods Max
The lightning to 3.5 mm cable was initially designed for using AirPods Max on plane where doesn't have bluetooth support. Though one can use this cable to realize quasi-HiFi, it was not designed for this purpose. This Apple lossless announcement is totally a failure, since they have no device...- hehifi

Best streaming service?
Unfortunately, the lightning to 3.5mm connector cannot provide enough current for most HiRes IEMs, you will find the IEM cannot be fully driven by that connector, the soundstage is quite narrow.- hehifi

How to enjoy master-quality HiFi music on iPhone?--From FiiO James
This is actually a clean and simple setup. Does the external DAC has an internal battery. I used Dragonfly cobalt which doesn't have a battery, and relies on the power supply from iPhone. It sounded much worse than directly connecting the dragonfly to Mac. The limited current supply from... -

You can wash it, and the cushions are replaceable. There is an official washing guide. But I would recommend you buy the space grey color. I bought white one then returned it, and bought the space grey one. I really like it.- hehifi

AirPods Max
According to my experience, for example, AKG N5005 which has one dynamic and quad balanced armature drivers in each earphone with a sensitivity of 116dB SPL/V@1kHz, its resistance is 18 ohm. Not crazy difficult to be driven, right? However, I tested it with iPhone with that adapter, I need to...- hehifi

AirPods Max
The biggest drawback of Apple's lightening to 3.5 mm audio adapter is its limited output power. Since most HiFi earphones have several BA units, and they are quite difficult to be fully driven by low power outputs.- hehifi

I don't use iTunes Movies. AirPods Max does support spatial audio for Apple TV App on iPad (will support Apple TV on Mac with M1 chip too in macOS 12?), now APM supports spatial audio for Apple Music with Dolby Atmos. Eventually, spatial audio will support more and more apps in apple ecosystem.- hehifi

I bought APM, actually it sounds good, and the noise cancelling is very powerful. With spatial audio, it rocks with Apple TV. I think it is much better than 1000XM3, just a little bit pricy.- hehifi

How to enjoy master-quality HiFi music on iPhone?--From FiiO James
I don't think it is decent to enjoy hires audio with bulky DAC....
