I'm thinking of buying a Schiit Aegir to go with Triton 7s and a Rythmik F12G sub. At least in my experience so far, using high level inputs on the sub has been the best way to get subs to integrate well. Has anyone used a sub with an Aegir wired up that way? Just want to make sure I wont run...

I’d have to say the Bifrost2. I liked the sound so much eventually I got a Yggdrasil OG. But for most people BF2 is the right size, and cost. Plus it’s their only DAC with a remote and the easiest to upgrade (both hardware wise and firmware wise since it can be flashes with a microSD card)...

With a lot of other brands you probably could assume that, but with Schiit you get a price relative to the cost to build. The dac chips and IC based output stage in LIM and MIL are cheaper to build and thus you pay less. To some the discrete output stage in the OG is important but to get that...

4pin XLR is technically safer than a lot of the other connectors out there (since each connector has its own spot and isn’t going past multiple connectors when plugging in or out) but I’ve still gotten in the habit of turning everything down when doing so. Enjoy your new amp!

That’s just for Bifrost Multibit. Bifrost 2 does 8x oversampling (aka 352.8 or 384khz). So since it only takes 176.4 or 192 in everything in is oversampled.

On MacOS this is true. But on iOS or iPadOS it automatically switches. The new iPad Air (or any iPad Pro) with USB-C is a great way to get Apple Music directly to a DAC bit perfect. Can use an iPhone too but then you need the Camera connector kit… wish everything was just USB-C.

I only own the GS-X mini not the mk2 so I don’t know from first hand experience but looking at the internals looks like the power supply box has dual toroidal transformers in it. Which shoot most of their stray field up/down. So it makes some sense that separating the two would be best.

I believe Jason mentioned in the most recent live stream he’s playing with a zero feedback pre-amp. Hopefully it comes to market one day!
