Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up

Some questions regarding Yggy since info@schiit is MIA.

Is the GS model not able to have upgrades? Like ever? That's what it seems like based on the website description.

Can a secondhand Yggy A1 be upgraded?
per Jason on this thread (sometime in the last year or two), you can't order a GS and have it upgraded before it ships out. but you can order a GS, receive it (maybe actually listen to it) and then send it back for upgrades (e.g. $200 Unison USB & $650 Analog 2).

note that Mike briefly mentioned on the last livestream that design of the next version analog board has been completed (a side-grade to Analog 2) but its not available for sale yet & planned for later this year.

Not likely to offer a user installable option (to facilitate re-certification / re-use of the old Analog Boards containing 4 pcs. expensive / limited availability DAC chips), so it might be cheaper to get a full new unit (one and done) when the boards are in production, instead of GS + Unison + Analog Upgrade + extra round-trip insured shipping.

I think we need an official shelf from Schiit for their products. Maybe a “Schiit Schelf” or “Schiit House”.

Yup, a Schiit Schelf for storing Schiit Schtuff. 😉

I recently attempted to buy a toaster made in the US, I failed. Mexico was my second choice, I failed there as well. Schiit needs to produce toasters.
I like calling my Vali 2 my brave little toaster!

Those are all great foods to try in the greater Cincinnati area. Our chili has spread as far north as Bowling Green, Ohio and as far East as Jackson, Ohio, I am told. When Cincinnatians go on vacation for a week or more the first thing we must do on arrival home is find a chili parlor. Frisch's actually makes fine pork tenderloin sandwiches, but they are not as large as those you can find in Indiana.
Cincinnati, as in WKRP …?… :)

Hi owners of Vidar.. is it normal? It's seems abit too hot to touch now . Sounding and working good though.
My Schiit kit all runs warm (my brother-in-law left an IR probe thermometer… might check it out on in my own listening nook). Only my Heretic (amp) and Bifrost (DAC)’s surfaces are ambient. As I understand it, the chassis doubles as the mother of heat-sinks. No active cooling (I always wondered if Schiit would consider using those weird copper heat-pipes found on laptops).

As a high school science teacher, I don’t know enough about material-sciences (I enjoy urging teenagers to dig into such voodoo). In my curriculum, heat = electrical resistance = bad. I need to have faith my gear’s designed to shut down if there’s catastrophic, run-away heating.

I leave my DAC on at all times. Everthing else gets clicked off using those fantastically-clicky, rear-facing toggle switches. All my kit’s attached to Belkin floor ‘power bar’ that gets turned-off during prolonged absences.

I did not think Seinfeld was funny the first time around, so I never watched it. I had several people insist I watch the best episodes and these just confirmed my opinion of the show, boring and predictable and a waste of time.
The episode about the fascist soup vendor was amusing…. Aaaand that was it for me. NO SOUP FOR YOU.

I sent an email on Thursday and after 4 business days there is no answer from Schiit. Do they answer emails at all?
Welcome to the thread, @Esers . Try again and follow up every 4-5 days. Remain patient & polite and they’ll resolve issues (my experience)…

That dude actually existed. When I was working on shows in that neighborhood, I ate there. And the "NO SOUP FOR YOU" was real. You HAD to know what you wanted when it was your turn. Or you were kicked out and had to go to the back of the line. He was popular, too. Lunch line was usually halfway down the block.
