    Reversible AKG K701 bass mod

Yeah the biggest problem of this mod is it introduces a lot more distortion while increase the bass, but it was interesting to me to try on different material to see how they change the bass, and I actually found some of them sound better than stock sticker

    Fake Senheiser IE800?

The biggest giveaway is actually the mesh on the nozzle, real one doesn't have that much density.

    Reversible AKG K701 bass mod

I like k812 and HD800 and T1 better than stock k701. Since I couldn't afford them I just want a cheap headphone which sounds close to them🙃 I want to get rid of that annoying 3-5k bump this mod does help a little bit on that besides bass bump. For me modded k701 is much closer to them than the...

    Reversible AKG K701 bass mod

Bruh I don't like to comment on someone's taste but once you said it's faster and more detailed than k812 and HD800 it's not a good sign for me. I tried these headphones before and they were already right on the edge for me. Not everyone like overly fast and analytical sound you should respect...

    Reversible AKG K701 bass mod

Not agree at all, it also depends on what you using to drive this headphone. This thing can sound like a orange and apple just on a different set so your point is worthless. I did the experiment as well using 2 different amps and have different preference. But I never liked the stock sound on...

    Reversible AKG K701 bass mod

And if you care so much about bass quality rather than quantity why not remove the foam disk as well? That thing does the same thing like you said. If you can't handle that you have no right to judge othet's taste as well.

    Reversible AKG K701 bass mod

Interestingly I find this bass mod works best with the foam disk removed from the earcup. The foam disk already muffled the sound quite a bit and if you further remove the sticker on the bass port it might be too much for some people. But for me remove the sticker and foam disk worked the best.

    Fake Senheiser IE800?

Yes and also the logo is different. Real one has very thin carving lines where fakes are thicker. Bass port of real one is matte silver material where most of the fakes are some shinny materials.

    Fake Senheiser IE800?

Real one doesn't have any tiny line(seam)at front. I'm not sure where did you see the genuine examples with these lines at front.

    Fake Senheiser IE800?

A lot of fakes do have resonators....and their sounds can be very close to the reals.

    IE 800 distortion issue

I know this is a very old thread. But I happened to get a pair of used ie800 for a very cheap price. It's 100% authentic after my check. The problem is I notice the very obvious diatortion when playing the piano tracks. The piano resonance creates buzzing sound in both channels. It does...

It's common issue with Chinese brand BA drivers. I had the same issue with my KZ all BA iem before. Basically the drivers are not quite capable of perfoming under high power output, they create more distortion and the sound becomes thin and shouty.

Yeah that's true but like I said everyone has their own taste. I won't say HD800 is thin and light like K701 but I generally do like some colored and exaggerated sound. With that said I actually prefer K701 over Hd800 for female vocals and ACG songs lol.

It's really hard to describe what's the best. If you talking about the soundstage, I like Sennheiser better, hd800 for the headphones and ie800 for the iems. The ie800 is a very controversial iem tho, but I do like it quite a bit just because of its unique soundstage.

Exactly, there are things couldn't be coexist on a single set. If you want strong bass impact, you not gonna get crystal clear high. If you want a big soundstage, you not gonna get upclose sweet vocal, etc.

Well that's true if you compare iems to headphones. As for someone who enjoys big soundstage, I found iems just can't compete with open back headphones for the soundstage regardless of price. The resolution and separation could be better on the iems tho.

Audio Lokahi IEM impressions and reviews thread

I m not saying that you have to switch several iems for different genres. Sure you can use one good iem for everything, but the more you listen to different sets the more you will find some specific aspects of different sets give you a satisfying and refreshing feeling. It's not about the price...

Audio Lokahi IEM impressions and reviews thread

All iems and headphones pretty much have single sound signature, even if they have multiple sound signatures(like filters or switches), the change would be subtle. There is ABSOLUTELY NO WAY one specific sound signature can be best match for all kind of musics. With that being said there won't...

Well, only a few people get the hand on it and the producion speed would never catch up the hype train. Blon hype was real cause you could easily grab 10 of these at anytime.

M9 does have a pretty good treble extension in my opinion, although it's not known for that. But the post 10k on BGGAR's graph seems to have better extension. Tunning consistency is a very common issue among DIY iems, that's why I was kind of skeptical about this hype. Should be a stellar...
