Sennheiser debuts a bunch of new headphones at IFA
I have used them both and to me HD599 is slightly more detailed while HD579 is more mellow or soft. For easy listening and less fatigue in long listening hours I suggest HD579, for more clarity HD599.- J The Killer

Radsone EarStudio ES100
Are you talking about unbalanced output of ES100? I heard that the real advantage of ES100 is its balanced output that uses dual ICs and the unbalanced output is rather mild in comparison, which is why I asked. Then I guess that the BTR3 wont be better (in terms of sound) than BTR1 because they...- J The Killer

Can the sound quality of unbalanced ES100 be considered same as that of BTR1? Add: For a medium impedance headphone (50-60 ohm).- J The Killer

Hehe..Yup I was not asking about ES100 per se. I wanted to compare the onboard DAC on the CSR8675 chipset with the PC sound card.- J The Killer

My headphones are around 50-60 ohms. So does that mean CSR8675 as a standalone DAC would be an improvement over a typical PC sound card?- J The Killer

Radsone EarStudio ES100
I am considering those inexpensive BT receiver/transmitter with CSR8675 that works as a DAC, which go for around $20-$40. CSR8675 has received praise for its audio performance so I was wondering how bad its sound quality is to say ES100 and BTR1/BTR3, which include DACs in addition to CSR8675...- J The Killer

FiiO BTR3-The World' First Bluetooth Headphone Amplifier, SBC/AAC/aptX/aptX LL/aptX HD/LDAC/HWA (LHDC)
First Q: Do the 4375/4376 have a DAC and Amp combo built in? Second Q: If I use unbalanced output of ES100 then 4376A of BTR3 will be slightly better (THD/SNR wise) than 4375A of ES100?- J The Killer

FiiO BTR3-The World' First Bluetooth Headphone Amplifier, SBC/AAC/aptX/aptX LL/aptX HD/LDAC/HWA (LHDC)
I was actually looking forward to BTR3 because of the newer 4376A DAC chip which has better THD and SNR than the older 4375A used in ES100. Granted ES100 has dual integrated chip that may increase Vrms but in my understanding it does not address the bottleneck of the THD/SNR of the DAC...- J The Killer

Massdrop x Sennheiser HD 58X Jubilee Review & Measurements
The notorious clamp is back after a few days of not wearing the 58X. I am still waiting for someone (except me) do a direct comparison between 58X and 599 but I will probably go for 599 over 58X simply because of comfort. It was comfortable for just a day or two after I had stretched them over...- J The Killer

I wish there was a way to connect sennheiser 6 series headphones to the BTR3 with a more convenient short cable like this: https://www.aliexpress.com/store/product/Replacement-Cable-for-MMCX-3-5mm-Connector-Headphones/1473108_32819725622.html?spm=2114.12010608.0.0.1e24e728EF73Ae- J The Killer

HiFiMan HE4XX
So you feel no difference in comfort between 6XX and 58X? My 599s go around my ears but 58X sit slightly on my ears which makes 599s more comfortable over longer listening period. I heard 6XX has slightly bigger ear holes than 58X. 4XX on the other hand might be completely on ear though so you...- J The Killer

I agree that a balanced cable will have double strength and less noise etc. but does it really matter when cables are 1-2 meters? @stancorrected - It is probably a faulty cable IMO- J The Killer

I don't really understand the reason for a balanced cable for less than 2 meters. It would make sense if it is like 5+ meters where the signal quality may drop at longer distance and that too to an extent which maybe incomprehensible for humans. If I am missing something please enlighten.- J The Killer
