    Review by 'tjy00' on item 'Noble Audio Khan'

    Noble's past IEM products have always been BA units design. But this time round with their latest flagship Khan, they adopted a more radical combination with three driver designs dynamic. Balanced Armature
 and Piezo Electric. Its certainly a surprising and bold move but its a trend we are...

    CanJam Singapore 2019 Impressions Thread

    My highlights for the event: 1) SR1a headphones (ribon driver) This year's showstopper for me. Billed as the first headphone utilizing a ribbon driver, these headphones have an edgy design but are actually quite comfortable on the ear. You need a quiet environment to get the best out of these...

    Review by 'tjy00' on item 'Shure KSE1200'

    The KSE1500 in-ear electrostatic earphone was a breakthrough product 3 years ago and occupies a top spot in the high end in-earphones market then. With the recent trend of price increase in the flagship iems (think obravo, vision ears, spiral ear) it might not occupy the top spot price wise...

    Review by 'tjy00' on item 'Empire Ears Phantom'

    My model is a universal version so there might be some variations from a custom model. All listening is done using hugo2 optical out as source. I will skip the build and design as you can find a more in depth explanation at empire ears web page. Instead of going for a more conventional mid...

    DX200=Affordable High End Audio. Dual ES9028Pro dacs. AMP1, AMP3, AMP5, AMP7 & AMP8 ***Firmware support now up for AMP9***

    I am using a coaxial cable like this. Works fine with other daps using coax output to hugo.

    DX200=Affordable High End Audio. Dual ES9028Pro dacs. AMP1, AMP3, AMP5, AMP7 & AMP8 ***Firmware support now up for AMP9***

    Has anyone tried using a coaxial cable to connect with hugo? Coaxial doesn't seem to work and I am only able to connect using optical connection.

    Rank the IEM's you've heard

    1) Erlkonig - If this was designed to be an end game iem it certainly succeeded, 4 different tunings to cover every genre, excellent technicality and musicality. Wrap that up with a beautifully designed shell and you have the whole package. 2) Tia Fourté - Hot treble, picky on source, eartips...

    Ultimate Ears LIVE Impressions Thread

    I was using normal silicone tips and my source a mojo to my phone. But again, different ear fit and signature preferences might contribute to our impressions as well.

    Ultimate Ears LIVE Impressions Thread

    Wow..Tia fourte must be terrible given the reviews for UE live so far... Back to track, UE live has been designed for stage musician rather than audiophiles which was emphasized in their marketing. For stage musicians, i am not so sure if a big soundstage, super detail retrieval or perfect...

    New TOL A&K DAP : the AK Ultima SP1000

    Thanks for the tip man, i was already using symbio w with fourte. I see that your preferred cable pair up with fourte is redcore? Maybe I'll give that a try.

    New TOL A&K DAP : the AK Ultima SP1000

    I was using tia fourte for the demo. Originally I had thought that the cu would be the better match since its supposed to be warmer than ss. The mids have more body and forwardness with the cu but the treble is brighter in comparison to ss which feels smoother and a bit more laid back.

    New TOL A&K DAP : the AK Ultima SP1000

    Recently did a demo of sp1000cu and sp1000ss with 1.08fw. Strangely, the treble of cu is now brighter than ss (at least to my ears).

    crinacle's IEM Ranking List

    Fourte finally dethroned.. Its treble is a double edged sword, vibrant and airy on one hand but bright and forward on another. Can only achieve a better balance through source or cable rolling. Not the best timbre as well. Dont think thats acceptable for an iem costing 3k, given that cheaper...

    Empire Ears - Discussion & Impressions (Formerly EarWerkz)

    Like w900? :grin: I wasn't thinking about quality though.. Just like to have the frequency range as a reference for comparison even though its not 100% accurate most of the time.

    Anyone knows what the frequency range of the new empire series iems are? I only see the frequency range shown for the old legacy models.

    Just hope that chord will release 2go soon. Thats the only thing holding me back from purchasing one cause the mojo poly is just more convenient on the go.

    Shure KSE1500 Review - Shure KSE1500 Sound Isolating Electrostatic Earphones

    I think the new kse1200 can sound even better than before if the amp is connected to a good dap or dac.

    The Official 64 Audio Thread | apex & tia Technologies

    When I listen to fourte with stock wire, i felt the fatigue coming from the mids more so than the treble. There is a peak around 800 Hz that emphasizes the middle mids bringing them forward, followed by several peaks in each treble regions for the microdetails fourte is famous for. Fatigue...

    Unique Melody Announcements, Impressions, & More

    Really wish that someone will come up with an adaptor for use with aftermarket cables. Though they already sound awesome with the given stock cable.

    There's just so much more that impacts the sound of cable other than the conductor material such as braiding, shielding and guage.
