I am using a coaxial cable like this. Works fine with other daps using coax output to hugo.

Has anyone tried using a coaxial cable to connect with hugo? Coaxial doesn't seem to work and I am only able to connect using optical connection.

I was using normal silicone tips and my source a mojo to my phone. But again, different ear fit and signature preferences might contribute to our impressions as well.

Wow..Tia fourte must be terrible given the reviews for UE live so far... Back to track, UE live has been designed for stage musician rather than audiophiles which was emphasized in their marketing. For stage musicians, i am not so sure if a big soundstage, super detail retrieval or perfect...

I was using tia fourte for the demo. Originally I had thought that the cu would be the better match since its supposed to be warmer than ss. The mids have more body and forwardness with the cu but the treble is brighter in comparison to ss which feels smoother and a bit more laid back.

Recently did a demo of sp1000cu and sp1000ss with 1.08fw. Strangely, the treble of cu is now brighter than ss (at least to my ears).

Fourte finally dethroned.. Its treble is a double edged sword, vibrant and airy on one hand but bright and forward on another. Can only achieve a better balance through source or cable rolling. Not the best timbre as well. Dont think thats acceptable for an iem costing 3k, given that cheaper...

Like w900? :grin: I wasn't thinking about quality though.. Just like to have the frequency range as a reference for comparison even though its not 100% accurate most of the time.

Anyone knows what the frequency range of the new empire series iems are? I only see the frequency range shown for the old legacy models.

Just hope that chord will release 2go soon. Thats the only thing holding me back from purchasing one cause the mojo poly is just more convenient on the go.

I think the new kse1200 can sound even better than before if the amp is connected to a good dap or dac.

When I listen to fourte with stock wire, i felt the fatigue coming from the mids more so than the treble. There is a peak around 800 Hz that emphasizes the middle mids bringing them forward, followed by several peaks in each treble regions for the microdetails fourte is famous for. Fatigue...

Really wish that someone will come up with an adaptor for use with aftermarket cables. Though they already sound awesome with the given stock cable.

Wow! Is this mod a similar design like the hs venom? Cant imagine how out of this world this would sound.

There's just so much more that impacts the sound of cable other than the conductor material such as braiding, shielding and guage.
