Sennheiser Amperior Impressions Thread
Saw these a week ago. $129 from Newegg. Read Tyll's review. Ordered same day. They arrived today. I unboxed them a while ago... rediscovered my favorite songs, and danced harder than I ever have before. What felt like 15 minutes was 1.5 hours. Now I'm exhaused and I've dropped in to say...- Grimloki

[REVIEW] Sony MH1 – The Best Kept Secret
Got the Amazon $19.99 version in black. Quite nice. Doesn't work with my phone correctly, but I just used the included shirt clip to hold the mic button down. The cable isn't as bad as everyone says. Its just a minor annoyance.- Grimloki

The secret scam of cheap earbuds
I think the scam is that you think you are dealing with one group of people selling a product, based on the brand, and you are really dealing with a completely different set of folks, and an inconsistent product they aren't very involved in. For example... V-Moda Vibes were designed and...- Grimloki

Fischer Audio rebranding only?
Fischer Audio's master series of headphones all seem to be Yoga Electronics headphones, rebranded. Specs match. I think they changed the logo, but thats all I see that's different. http://www.yoga.com.tw CD-880 and CD-990 in the Yoga Monitor series are FA-002s and FA-003s...- Grimloki

Portable cans for girlfriend
Since your girlfriend has such tiny, oddly shaped ears, I have read the ATH-ES7 be circumaural on her, and if not then the ATH-WS70 may be. Those are pretty cool looking, and portable. Take a look at the Fischer Audio FA-004 and FA-003. They may be good. The reviews are comparing...- Grimloki

anyone watch inception? what was the player?
I pick out the brands of fountain pens used in old movies, and new period flicks. The only normal people are the ones you don't know very well. We aren't obsessed. We are inspired.- Grimloki

IEM between $40-$75 - basshead
Quote: I don't think theres anything demanding that cost, other than what the market will pay. They could probably sell it for half that price and still make a huge profit (or way more due to volume), depending on their costs, and scalability. They use 4 proprietary BA drivers...- Grimloki

Pen-Fi (FPs, RBs, BPs, etc...) [56k Warning]
Wow. Pen-fi. I'm guess I shouldn't be surprised that some headphone addictianados love pens as well. I thought I got away from the fountain pen addiction hobby. I had a Lamy 2000 for a number of years. Its a great pen. Neil Gaiman uses the Lamy 2000 as well. He refers to it as his 'novel...- Grimloki

Panasonic RP-HJE900 Zirconia Review
Dynamic drivers improve with burn in more often than not. Getting used to the way a particular IEM sounds is 90% of the "burn in" process IMO. I'm not sure it ever stops... I do know when going back to other IEMs from the HJE900 is more of a shock than I'm used to with other IEMs. Even when...- Grimloki

Multi-IEM Review - 352 IEMs compared (Pump Audio Earphones added 04/03/16 p. 1106)
Price doesn't change the way something sounds. It really shouldn't set expectations. I'm not aware of a single BA driver that costs more than $45 to buy one at a time... and thats from a reseller. I am guessing, but I imagine in quantities over 1000, the top Knowles BA driver costs no...- Grimloki
