    Bowers & Wilkins PX Noise-Cancelling Over-ears

I found them to be less open and sort of unatural. Others haven't. I have wired P7s that I compare to attached to the 3.5mm of a pixel. These make sound sort of holographic, addictive, enjoyable. Whilst the PXs are detailed and controlled, they're, for me too dry. Maybe I'm expecting too much...

    Bowers & Wilkins PX Noise-Cancelling Over-ears

that could be your brain adjusting and not them actually changing from use..... Got them connected over USB-C, they don't come up as a connected device in the USB settings mind. It says USB not connected.

it does? I've a Pixel XL and all I get as options to do with the USB-C is to power it, perhaps I need to try another cable....

    Bowers & Wilkins PX Noise-Cancelling Over-ears

I can only charge them off my pixel android phone. Can they act as DAC to an android phone? In Windows it downloads drivers and sees them as 2 devices "stereo" and "headset".

the USB DAC of the PXs (USB-C cable from laptop). They've had about 18 hours of burn in noise + my listening testing

    Bowers & Wilkins PX Noise-Cancelling Over-ears

OK, perhaps a specific snippet might help illustrate. Track: Kiss Kiss Bang Bang Album: Tough Guys Don't Dance Artist: High Contrast the first minute and 15 seconds before the Drum and bass gets going. A) There's a slow rhythm played with a muffled symbol that's had some reverb / cutting...

    Bowers & Wilkins PX Noise-Cancelling Over-ears

Oh I found it's bass ability!! I left them on burn in whilst at work (over bluetooth all day, so good battery work, still had 23% left) and this evening the BASS has arrived. They still sound "brittle" in the treble space, certainly not yet natural and fit for long periods (getting a headache...

    Bowers & Wilkins PX Noise-Cancelling Over-ears

Promises promises. Pointed the app at my headphones and there's no firmware upgrade offered. I'm on 1.052. I'm in email dialogue with B&W since asking for a return authorisation. They're asking in depth questions about my experience. fWIW I concur with that PC mag review. I hope it can be fixed...

My phone says there's a firmware update ready in the app. Will apply when I get home. Hope it helps as I'm still underwelmed by the PX.

    Bowers & Wilkins PX Noise-Cancelling Over-ears

SORRY. They do act as a USB DAC when connected to a PC (ThinkPad X1 with windows 10), but not when connected to a Pixel Android 8.0

    Bowers & Wilkins PX Noise-Cancelling Over-ears

perhaps not, I find them prone to sort of rolling forward. I keep having to push them back. On a positive note, I've had white noise going for 20minutes unstopped now with them hung over a genelec speaker. So random stops aren't an issue if you turn off filters and sensing.

    Bowers & Wilkins PX Noise-Cancelling Over-ears

even with that disabled they randomly stop! they don't act as a DAC over USB-C, it is only possible to charge them over USB-C. A chance missed there. As for the multiple AD conversions with a 3.5mm cable, it was more of an experiment, and a failed one at that. Why do they have to A-d-A inputs on...

oh and try running a white noise into them to to run them in, without them disconnecting every 2 minutes

    Bowers & Wilkins PX Noise-Cancelling Over-ears

Mine arrived Thursday direct from B&W. Not terribly impressed, considering returning them. I’m comparing to wired P7s that I love and Westone Um pro 50, both wired and with their Bluetooth adapter. I’ve attached them to my Pixel XL, via blue tooth, 3.5mm adapter and also attached them wired in...
