Yeah that lower price does look attractive, but it’s a bit hard trying to snag one used in Australia at least.

Honestly it all depends on your perspective and experience. I used to run the QDC Geminis off my phone and it sounded amazing! Of course it scaled as I moved into better equipment, but personally I feel like the IEM itself makes the biggest difference and not the source.

Yeah I’m using a SP200 for the balanced out since I only have the balanced cable, and it almost feels flat compared the Z1Rs on the Taurus Pre, so heavily considering something like a soloist or a gs-x mini at the moment.

Personally the bass and tonality of planars just speak much more to me especially on the Ether 2s, but honestly a great deal of it depends on the implementation as the short time I had demoing the Utopias blew me away with the vocals it was able to produce.

Does anyone get a faint hissing out of the headphone output of the RME when it’s near max? Found this kinda strange.
