While very good, the HD660S has a pretty different frequency response. It has considerably less bass and treble.

An iPhone can drive these up to 108-9 db; a MBP can get to around 115 db. You'll most likely be fine.

Feels like I'll never get my hands on the new dual flanges! I ordered a third pair of brand new ER2 series (including through Amazon UK direct, now another UK retailer) well after they were introduced and sold online but it's always triple flanges. Getting some serious FOMO.

No worries. Do have in mind that there are 2 different sizes too - the standard SD2 and the slightly smaller SD2S - so it's better if you can try them on first or get them through a place with a good returns policy like Thomann. I used the smaller ones and they fit just fine.
