Show pics please! I'm also guessing that there's less of a treble emphasis relative to DT 770

    Earbuds Round-Up

Hey hello. VE Monk user looking for something new and fresh - any recommendations?

While very good, the HD660S has a pretty different frequency response. It has considerably less bass and treble.

    Focal Clear headphones

I tried to find as much as possible using Google Translate but I suppose they do have a normal return policy, e.g. 14 or 30 days?

Maximum output voltage: New MacBook Airs

Has anyone measured (or knows) the maximum output voltage of the newer (2018 onwards) MacBook Airs (i.e. 3.5mm jack)? An old post from NwAvGuy shows that the 2011 MacBook Airs were rated at 1.4 VRMS; the new MacBook Pros are rated at 2 VRMS - and I can confirm that the latter sounds about...

The New HD 560S: Linear Acoustics at a Breakthrough Value

An iPhone can drive these up to 108-9 db; a MBP can get to around 115 db. You'll most likely be fine.

The New HD 560S: Linear Acoustics at a Breakthrough Value

Indeed. I have to say I'm impressed by their social media team and the fact that they actually answer technical questions on frequency response, driver configurations, etc, which other companies usually don't do.

If you still love Etymotic ER4, this is the thread for you...

It's $30 for the kit plus $41 shipping to the UK, which sucks, but I can't even place a UK order - 'Sorry, no quotes are available for this order at this time' - regardless of what options I choose.

Feels like I'll never get my hands on the new dual flanges! I ordered a third pair of brand new ER2 series (including through Amazon UK direct, now another UK retailer) well after they were introduced and sold online but it's always triple flanges. Getting some serious FOMO.

True, even though the code is correct - 556906 - and the original ones are 578881. There is a chance these are the ones you need but yeah, it's a shame they've discontinued these.

    hd25-1 impressions thread

I've been looking for these too but it seems like they're sold out everywhere - plus discontinued. I just got the classic velours instead. Edit: I found this on some Finnish website but I have no idea if it's legit (seems OK)...

Reply to review by 'sainteb' on item 'InEar ProMission X'

@F700 I've tried the SD-2 which appears to have the same fit and nozzle. Seal is great due to the custom-like fit and I was able to get a nice flush fit - despite the short and seemingly not so thin nozzle. And yes, deep insertion is certainly possible. Interestingly, the SD series actually...

    Review: InEar StageDiver Series

No worries. Do have in mind that there are 2 different sizes too - the standard SD2 and the slightly smaller SD2S - so it's better if you can try them on first or get them through a place with a good returns policy like Thomann. I used the smaller ones and they fit just fine.

    Review: InEar StageDiver Series

Yes. Probably one of your best no-nonsense bets, along with ER4. Comfort and ease-of-use are much better compared to the Etys while isolation is nearly as good with a good fit. FR and isolation measurements: https://www.innerfidelity.com/images/InEarStageDriverSD2.pdf

Has anyone tried a cable with equal left-right length on these and does it look alright? And do cables like Oyaide have different L/R length like the original?

    hd25-1 impressions thread

I've been looking for a shorter cable for my HD-25 I and I've found some that are 1.3M total. However, as they're not HD-25 specific, I realise that I'll need about 40cm of it to connect the left side and put it under the headband. I was wondering if 90cm - starting from the area where the...
