Studio Monitors vs Headphones
Audio is a resource sinking rabit-hole :) Headphone is typically less expensive to start with. A good stereo system can be tricky to set up and more expensive in general.- neyurt

DENAFRIPS 'ARES' R2R discrete ladder DAC - close up view
I don't disagree with this sentiment tbh. Gears that are clinical are often fatique to listen to. Warmed added by analog distortion (small amount) are often pleasant to the ears, which obviously disagree with "measurements".- neyurt

AC Power CABLE - C13/C14 Y-splitter cable
Hello, can't seem to find a decent topic on this, but is it safe to use C13/14 for devices that use standard power cable? Something like this: https://www.amazon.com/IEC-C14-C13-Splitter-Cord/dp/B07W7CPZS3?th=1 The reason I'm asking is, I have a good amount of devices that goes together...- neyurt

Studio Monitors vs Headphones
Don't mind the over simplication on this topic but simple rule of thumb seems to be: 1) Headphones is great for small rooms or a bad acoustic space - you don't have to worry about DSP to account for "the room" 2) With a decent room (better if treated), monitors and great stereo setup allows you...- neyurt

DENAFRIPS 'ARES' R2R discrete ladder DAC - close up view
The folks over at ASR definitely are more on the critical side of things, but it's hard to argue against using measurements to justify a product's worth.- neyurt

Streamer for Spotify from windows pc
You can use Rpi+Volumio -> USB Dac. Volumio is a pretty good endpoint as it supports spotify/tital/qobuz (upnp) and airplay.- neyurt

Confusion on USB connection from motherboard to DAC
Yeah, I think this is also fine and the easiest. Don't believe you get any extra fidelity or jitter/noise rejection from going usb-c <-> usb3 etcs. Good dac on usb2 input should reject noise/jitter just fine.- neyurt

Ares II doesn't get a good reivew on ASR. Is it because R2R usually doesn't measure well comparing to chip-based DAC?- neyurt

Help finding headphones??
+1 for hifishark - good place to look for used gears. Audio gear is notoriously expensive so it make sense to buy 2nd hand as much as u can. Most used audio gears are still in very good condition.- neyurt
