Was looking for a response to a user a few pages back about the built-in controls affecting USB output volume. Is the USB output bit-perfect by default? Was looking at picking up one of these to replace my Samsung Galaxy S7, both as a source for my Mojo at home and on the road with my 1More Quads.

Nope. You're trying to find a $500ish device that acts as a transport, dac, and amp, and trying to find comparable sound quality to that of a $500ish dedicated dac/amp. Doesn't seem to exist at the moment, but give it time.

This short break-in period was not meant to prevent crackling. It was mainly meant to identify if this pair suffers, or would suffer, from crackling. I didn't want to wait weeks to find out if crackling would appear as happened with my previous pair.

My second pair of Elears experienced the crackling issue after around 35 hours of intermittent regular use (no special break-in period). My dealer (Jason at Source AV) was able to do a straight exchange for a new pair out of existing stock after a quick call to Focal. I went ahead and broke in...

A Cavalli Liquid Carbon (v1 or v2) can easily be had for under $1000 these days with a nice balanced XLR replacement cable. I know I'm really enjoying the combo.

Sounds like Spotify and Poweramp are using the default Android audio subsystem to output an upsampled 96k signal to the Dragonfly. Try using UAPP to output a bit-perfect signal to the Dragonfly. Pretty sure you'll hear a difference then, and with no volume issue either.

I had heard this yet-to-be-delivered feature was awaiting release in forthcoming firmware, but have not seen it mentioned. Would be nice to be able to use it with my Mojo if I so choose.

Not sure if you're looking for DAC functions as well, but I'd highly suggest a Chord Mojo fits well in that price range.

  I think that's the unit tentatively known as "Liquid Ambiance". I believe the "Tungsten Light" aka "Mini-Platinum" aka "Rouge" was the other unit in the middle of the table. I certainly await its release.

Might this just be a side effect of increased volume? When I switched to the silver-plated OTG cable in the AQ DragonTail from a generic copper OTG cable, I noticed I was able to turn the volume setting down a couple steps to achieve roughly the same listening volume.

Perhaps I missed it in another LC thread, but anyone have impressions of differences between LC v1.0 and v2.0?
