I bought my adapter on ebay years ago. It was only $40 USD. You should check your local ebay listings, you should be able to find something. I never liked the bulk of the adapter and the XLR end of the headphone cable cluttering my desk. Eventually I found a cable maker on Etsy that terminated...

I have this ebay adapter and it works as expected. For me, it definitely widens the soundstage a tad and stereo separation is improved.

I would say after going balanced, the soundstage became tad wider and stereo separation was a bit better. It sounded a little more open/better overall.

I have both the balanced adapter and the Sbooster MK. II and both offer significant improvements. The balanced adapter definitely widens the soundstage and, at least for me, makes things a tad more detailed. The Sbooster was a more readily noticeable improvement even with no burn in.

I e-mailed sbooster about this and they thought that 13 was best, but yes, any voltage works. It's your preference.

Well damn...I set the output voltage to 13.2V. It's even better! I immediately noticed a wider and deeper soundstage. Everything sounded more airy too.

Just for due diligence, did you double check that you did in fact get the 120V version from the sticker on the body?

I'm just noticing this with the new firmware: Volume resets to 0db when turning it on. Anyone else notice this too?

I looked at it, but I wouldn't even know how to connect that to the B+. Also, the box is too bulky for my liking. Looks really sharp and something I'd hurt my feet on on a regular basis. ;-)

Hope you like it! I'd also like to add: My comparison at CanJam was with a single ended connection. The DAC+ was great. At home I A/Bed single ended vs balanced. Balanced definitely sounded like a wider soundstage...not necessary better, but I think I prefer it.

I listened to the Liberty briefly at CanJam. From what I remember, the Liberty and original Brooklyn are close in sound...at least to me. I also listened to (and bought the DAC+) because I thought it sounded more resolving the the Liberty and original Brooklyn. I don't think either of them...
