Fostex TH900 Impressions & Discussion Thread
I love the TH900 Mk2 so much:heart_eyes: They are just so fast and lively compared to other headphones. And so open and airy with such an impressive soundstage for a closed back. And of course the bass. Sitting here now listening to Touch Yello through the Chord M Scaler/TT2 is pure heaven.- opienor

Watts Up...?
Thanks a lot for your thorough insight! The strange thing is that Youtube is the only problem it seems. I suspect there is a sync issue going on within the app. But your point about internet connection and app or firmware updates is also interesting. I´m running Shield on a 5GHz Wifi. I will try... -
Watts Up...?
I got an Nvidia Shield TV today to allow for the full 1M taps on the M scaler. Got it set up with 650ms delay (HDMI into TV and optical from TV to M Scaler). It is working flawlessly with Netflix and any other app apart from Youtube. Youtube video audio is stuttering all the time when using the... -
Chord Electronics - Hugo 2 - The Official Thread
Is opening up the Hugo 2 as easy as just unscrewing all the screws and taking the case apart along the seam? I tried this yesterday but it felt like there is something more holding it together than just the external screws (maybe some double sided tape or something similar?) so I didn´t want to...- opienor

Hugo TT 2 by Chord Electronics - The Official Thread
To add to the source discussion I went from a Bluesound Node 2i to an Auralic Aries G1 and was really surprised how big of an improvement it was. I would actually compare it to adding the M Scaler to the TT2. I still have the Node and compare them from time to time and there is no doubt there is...- opienor

Hugo TT 2 by Chord Electronics - The Official Thread
Are you sure? Maybe he ran your name through a bunch of measurements and the graphs never lie: you are from now on mr. Rob Watt... Apologies for my bad humour, and thank you for your brilliant work on the TT2 and M Scaler. I enjoy the magic of them as often as life permits:ksc75smile:- opienor

The idea behind ASR is good but the site quickly turned into yet another echo chamber just like any other. All hail the leader and stomp on and harass the critics. Just another playground for angry grown-ups.- opienor

Watts Up...?
My old Marshall in the 90´s, when I kicked on overdrive and the Crybaby, took in a couple of local FM stations. Those were the days  -
Hugo M Scaler by Chord Electronics - The Official Thread
Yes I fear you are right regarding shipping times on most items these days. Would be best if I can fix this easily myself or maybe Chord arranges it to be repaired here in Norway via my local dealer where I bought it. I will write them an email now and keep you posted when I get a response.- opienor

Hugo M Scaler by Chord Electronics - The Official Thread
Thank you! I will email Chord to check out the options. The whole socket almost looks like a cartridge so I guess it´s an easy fix even if the whole thing has to be replaced. Here is a picture of the flap and the tab that broke off. I stand by my statement that this could have been done better...- opienor

I took the cable out to route it differently. When I tried to reconnect it the door was jammed open at an angle and the tab was broken. So just normal use I would say.- opienor

Hugo M Scaler by Chord Electronics - The Official Thread
So the cover of one of my M Scaler Toslink inputs just fell off. One of those microscopic plastic "hinge" tabs has broken off. As this is a pretty crappy design I suspect others have experienced the same. Any tips for fixing it? I guess I could send it in for repair but that will probably leave...- opienor

Hugo M Scaler by Chord Electronics - The Official Thread
WiFi stability was one of my concerns as well but it has been rock solid. Not a single drop out since I got the G1 two weeks ago. And just to add: every upgrade like this is a financial stretch for me. I will still consider the G1 a worthwhile upgrade. I think this is the best my system has ever...- opienor

Not sure if that is exactly what you are asking but I recently upgraded my streamer from Node 2i to the G1 going into M Scaler/TT2. Optical from the Node 2i to the M Scaler and now USB from the G1 to the M Scaler. G1 is connected to router via WiFi. To my surprise this turned out to be a pretty...- opienor

Hugo TT 2 by Chord Electronics - The Official Thread
I recently upgraded from Bluesound Node 2i to Auralic Aries G1. Was very sceptical if it would make much difference but turned out to be a massive upgrade in SQ. I would say it did just as much for my system as adding the M Scaler. Huge improvement in separation, detail and soundstage. I also...- opienor

Hugo TT 2 by Chord Electronics - The Official Thread
I used an M Scaler with my Hugo 2 (equal sound to Qutest as you know) for about half a year before upgrading to the TT2+ M Scaler. Adding the M Scaler to the Hugo 2 was a great step up in sound quality. If I had to choose between either adding the M Scaler to the Qutest or upgrading to the TT2 I...- opienor

I did A/B-test quite extensively when I got them about a year ago. Sometimes I thought I heard a difference, sometimes I didn´t so pretty undecided. But would be fun to try again since it´s been a year. A lot of people say they hear an improvement over the stock power supply.- opienor

I measured just now. Sbooster I use for my M Scaler: 15.18V and supplied SMPS: 15.23V and the SMPS is actually fluctuating a bit berween 15 and 15.4V. So there you have it.- opienor

Sennheiser HD800 S Impressions Thread (read first post for summary)
I have both the HD 800s and the Focal Clear. While the Clear can be very fun and engaging to listen to because it´s got a little more "meat on the bones" in comparison, that same element robs it of some details in my opinion. So to me the same tracks sound punchier with the Clear but more...- opienor

Hugo M Scaler by Chord Electronics - The Official Thread
To me the most important effect is adding way more depth and definition to vocals and different instruments, kind of a holographic effect. When you get used to this going from full upscaling to passthrough is like instantly sawing off a little from the front and back of the sound. Took a little...- opienor

Watts Up...?
Thank you so much for your views, Rob. Good point keeping everything more local and simplistic of course. After getting a streamer I have sort of forgotten about my FLAC packed player. Will take it out again this evening. Cheers!
