[Resolved] Repair Manual for Fostex? (TH610)

For the record everyone, I was able to obtain an Exploded View and Parts List - which was enough to go by for ordering, and for the repair (by looking at the Exploded View). As far as the repair tips: The e-clips are too small for normal eclip pliers. I just used a set of pliers to force off...

Soft-to-Touch, Smooth, Quiet Cables for TH610/HD580/HD650/etc?

My Fostex came with a superb soft-to-touch and very quiet cable harness. Unfortunately for me, it is like 3 meters long and has 1/4" jack on it. Would anyone have a source of a similar, shorter cable and hopefully with a 3.5mm jack?

[Resolved] Repair Manual for Fostex? (TH610)

Does anyone have any advice in repairing Fostex headphones? Specifically the hanger that mounts the earpiece to the headband. Or a service manual for these would work. I've emailed them without a response (maybe the holidays). /TL;DR An utterly rude person on an international flight shoved...

    TH610 Repair Parts

So a thoughtless and irresponsible city ***hole ran/fell/slammed into my backpack a few days while I was waiting to cross the street at a light. Besides being knocked almost into traffic, I didn't notice at the time, but he destroyed my TH610s! Not even a sorry. More of a, "What, you're in my...

Please help: Brainwavz Sheepskin on Fostex TH-610

Well, at least 2 others have the same pads and claim pure awesomeness with it with these exact headphones. I am getting no awesome sauce from it though.

Please help: Brainwavz Sheepskin on Fostex TH-610

Thanks for the suggest of other pads! I may have to dig into those now. Yes, they were oval pads as those were the ones that the reviewer in the OP were using - and the only ones available as "angled" as the stock 610's pads are angled. I've been talking with Brainwavz' customer service for a...

Please help: Brainwavz Sheepskin on Fostex TH-610

Per a few reviews, some were using the Brainwavz HM5 Sheepskin Angled earpads as replacements for the stock Fostex TH-610 ones. After I ordered all the parts and started the swap, I was surprised to find out the HM5 pads are oval whereas the Fostex ones are round. I guess they knew what they...

    Recommend: PolkAudio-like, Closed-back, Over-Ear: Budget ~$500

Hello! I have read and used fantastic advice from these forums in the past. It's time for an upgrade. I've read maybe 40+ reviews trying to determine what to buy next. I have tried several $500-$1000 over the years that friends have and was not impressed by any of them as I have a unique...

Buying new, Spouse says "too loud"

Thanks for the review!   I've had some highend UE IEMs and while very excellent, it was quite troublesome to keep them sealed and wires that wrapped around my ears kept breaking but the real kicker was I'd forget I'd have them in and roll over while napping - ouch.   Over-the-ears I've been...

New release - the AKG K553 Pro - featuring a killer Massdrop deal

Haha, yeah already knew that fate when I first got my A40s and she came running upstairs to tel me "the neighbors are blasting music again."  We had no neighbors at that time...   Thank you!  Keep 'em coming!

New release - the AKG K553 Pro - featuring a killer Massdrop deal

Been searching for "external acoustics" of headphones and noticed this quote.   How "quiet" are these, from someone else's external perspective?   I'm basically on the hunt for a set of headphones that are very quiet/silent to the outside world (the better-half keeps complaining about my...

Buying new, Spouse says "too loud"

Thanks!   Do you know how well the drivers are isolated from leaking into the surrounding ambient area?  E.g., can other people hear what you hear?

Buying new, Spouse says "too loud"

So I went searching for my "gamer headset" a few years ago after going through 5 complete highend (well, $250-$350) sets and bluetooth crap to finally settle on the Astro A40s.  Partially because of sound was decent, bassy, but decent.  But mostly because of the awesome Astro 5.4 Ghz Mixamp...
