[FiiO UTWS5] True Wireless Bluetooth Earhooks as Usual,Coupled with Independent AK4332 DAC
Also, when ambient mode is on does it constantly cut in and out as you navigate apps on your phone? It is driving me nuts. Not sure if expected or unexpected behavior- gnychis

[FiiO UTWS5] True Wireless Bluetooth Earhooks as Usual,Coupled with Independent AK4332 DAC
Hi all, is there any way to switch to ambient mode via the buttons on the headphones when in a call? It seems triple click on the right button mutes/unmutes when in a call.- gnychis

The Watercooler -- Impressions, philosophical discussion and general banter. Index on first page. All welcome.
Hi all. I've been a Shue SE846 user for many many years and personally like the sound signature. Particularly what sounds and feels like a true subwoofer. I've just struggled with the mmcx connectors holding up and it's driving me crazy. Had to have one repaired and now probably the other side...- gnychis

Is this a broken MMXC on my SE846?
Welp, sent it to Shure and the best they're willing to do is give me a $350 single ear replacement. Totally ridiculous. Anyone know a third party that can repair the connector?- gnychis

Is this a broken MMXC on my SE846?
Got it, thank you! The other ear piece is a full circle, but this helps me confirm it. I will get them in for repair then.- gnychis

Is this a broken MMXC on my SE846?
Hi, I've started to lose sound in my SE846 when my cable moves in certain ways. Looking into the connector, it looks "half" there? Does it look like one side broke off?- gnychis

Looking for something to replace my SE846 + True Wireless Gen 2
Hi all. I had historically used Shure IEMs. A long time ago with my E500s, and then I've had my SE846 for probably about 10 years now. My SE846 are having some issues (though I'll still try to have them repaired). I've loved their combination with the Shure True Wireless Gen 2 bluetooth...- gnychis

Going fully Wireless IEMs. Too soon? Or are we there yet?
Please let me know as well. I have the UTWS3 and am curious how these will compare. I didn't get Gen 1 because of the whole mono call situation. But now with stereo call I might consider them.- gnychis

Going fully Wireless IEMs. Too soon? Or are we there yet?
thanks a lot! I did see the Shure TWS ones but can't get over the call in only one ear thing in addition to the price :( Maybe I'll try the TRN ones while waiting for the UTWS3.- gnychis

Going fully Wireless IEMs. Too soon? Or are we there yet?
Does anyone know what happened to the FiiO UTWS3? Seems very difficult to find after not having been out very long. I'd really love a good MMCX connector for my SE846 before deciding to jump to something full bluetooth, though you all have some very interesting models here that I'm looking...- gnychis

Good portable amp with multi-band EQ (for asymmetric hearing loss)
Hi all, I have some asymmetric hearing loss between 3000Hz and 4000Hz. With IEMs, the difference is extremely noticeable to me. It sounds like someone took the balance slider and slid it to the right (since the loss is in my left ear). I was wondering if anyone knows of any good portable amps...- gnychis

love my SE846 with Shure yellow tips, wear out too quickly...
Hi all, I love my SE846 IEMs, in particular I find the Shure yellow foam tips to give me the best seal and isolation. Unfortunately, those tips seem to wear out very quickly since I tend to wear my IEMs for a few hours a day, pulling them in and out somewhat frequently. I was wondering what to...- gnychis

Has anyone received a replacement unit in the US?
Has anyone here sent a malfunctioning FiiO unit to their US location for a replacement? If so, what was the condition of the new unit you received? I have a 1.5 month old X3 where the right headphone audio will cut out until I physically slap the back of the unit a few times. I was told I... -

The FiiO X3 2nd gen (ex X3K, X3II) Thread : 192K/24B, CS4398,Native DSD, USB DAC with LO and inline remote
My unit is having headphone issues. My right ear will cut out entirely until I physically slap the unit with my hand a few times and then all audio will come back as normal. Has anyone else experienced this before? FiiO support is not particularly great. They're very slow to respond. They've...- gnychis
