It's the v.2 and it's been around for some time. :) Supposedly they also put a longer head stretch for those who have bigger heads. But I'm not 100% sure.

I just found out I have an old Technics (Panasonic) SA-X800 in my house. It has what seems to be a quite nice and solid stereo integrated amplifier section!   My Dad surely bought it in the Mid 80's or '90s.   I'll try to pair my DAC and amp the headphones from there and see how it goes. :)

Ye, you're pretty much right. Done some A/B comparisons as well and I will post a review/comparison for both on here as well soon...   Anyways, I made my mind up and decided to sell the 2050s.

I'll write to you via PM. Wether I'll be selling one or the other, I'm going to sell the headphones with stock + HM5 Pads. :)

I'm going to sell either the Pro80 or the Hi2050s if any of you are interested. I still need to make up my mind on which of the two I want to keep though. I live in EU!

**Hifiman HE-400 Impressions and Discussion Thread**

Hello everyone, I might be purchasing one of these, and I'd really love to know how they perform, if they require a specific amp to sound well and if I'll ever need to EQ them.   I'm looking for a good allrounder that can play mostly any genre. I listen to anything from Classical, Jazz, Rock...

Chinese / Asian Brand Info Thread (Headphones, IEMs, Amps, DACs)

I'd like to try modding one of these cheap headphones. By modding I don't just mean changing the pads or doing a removable cable mod. I'd like to try mass loading, dampening, etc.    Has anyone successfully done this enhancing its sound in a positive way? Or is there any headphone that you...

Chinese / Asian Brand Info Thread (Headphones, IEMs, Amps, DACs)

Hello guys,   I have the Takstar Pro80s and the Hi2050s, what do you suggest I'd try? I'm liking the Pro80s better than the Hi2050s, the bass feels just right and not too much for my ears. I'd like to try a headphone that puts the vocals more in front and that doesn't "veil" them for so to...

I'm still giving these headphones quite a good burn-in as I am trying to do a direct comparison in order to give you my opinion about the two cans.   The Pro80s have had probably around 100-150 hours of burn-in and the sound is very pleasant. The bass is godly. It really feels just right for...

Get the Pleather ones. Maybe the angled NVX and/or angled HM5s once they come out. You won't regret it :)   I'm doing a direct comparison between pleather and velour and it is noticable... Pro80s don't lack bass in my opinion, it depends on the cups and how you amp them mainly. I feel that...

No Gino, your explanation was fine. Don't get me wrong :) Rounded cups can be very comfortable, Beyers are an example of it, but they do require a bigger cup size if you want them to fit your ear completely. We all know that huge size also compromises portability and the looks of it when you're...

Well Gino,    I, for example, am a big fan of the oval shape instead... Our ears are more oval-like than round-shaped as a circle. I love it when my ears can go entirely into the cups, it makes me feel more comfortable, isolated and well-surrounded. It's all a matter of preference but in my...

Hello guys!   I'm home once again after a bit of travelling. Now I have both the Hi2050s and the Pro80s at home. While I can easily say that the Pro80s are very good (and probably the best headphones I've ever tried) they are a bit warm which makes them perfect for rock, metal, hardcore...

Hey guys, I've got to say comfort on the HM5 pads is wonderful! I'm roughly at 50 hours burn in and I feel the pro80s are still a bit "veiled" but i'm confident they will change... I can confirm these headphones do not forgive bad recordings/quality formats

What Soundcard do you have?   Ok, so assuming the AD A900x's are burnt in, unless you have a really good soundcard, I think you should go with a DAC/AMP solution like the SMSL or the Fiio E7 (for portable use as well) or even E9 would be better (for both headphones, that is), but I haven't...

Imho you could try the Fostex T20RP MK2 or T50RP and mod them mostly with DIY stuff, except Shure 840 pads and Sennheiser headband. That could be a 150$ investment that can easily scale to a 500$ headphone if modded correctly!   Btw, did you give the headphones enough burn-in? Give them at...

Thank you all for the precious advice! I'll just stay on the lookout, if I see a fostex t20rp getting marked down I'll make sure I get one!   Balsa Wood seems to be a good mod for me, and also reversible. I'll keep this in mind!

Yeah I can't wait! But I'm already happy with the stock pads, they are a bit stiff and shallow I would say, but the overall comfort is just fine. My head isn't all that big, and my ears go in perfectly. I'm loving the Oval shape!   The clamping force is just fine for me, could be a bit better...
