[FiiO FH7] Flagship 5-Driver (1DD + 4BAs) Hybrid In-Ear Monitors, Knowles DFK + SWFK Composite BA Drivers, 13.6mm Beryllium DD Driver

I really wish these had the two-pin connector. I had to fiddle around with the little connector ring on the unit (not the cable) and I feel like the connection is tenuous at best. I'm really starting to hate MMCX connectors. As I stated previously, I love the sound on these (especially the...

FIIO 2024 New Product Schedule-From FIIO James

I think I'll wait for the reviews of the cassette player and CD player. The guts matter, and the description here is a bit vague.

The ESS team made a visit to FiiO on the occasion of the 16th anniversary

I've owned the EX1, X3II, Kilimanjaro 2, F9, Q1MKII, and now the FH7 and M11 Plus. Everything that I've purchased from FiiO has punched above its weight on value.

Wasn't there supposed to be a FIIO sale happening right now?

The HiBy R6 III is now available for pre-order!

I was really underwhelmed by the build quality on my first gen R5. It felt like one of those budget Android phones you can get at Walgreens. I think they needed a refresh just to stay competitive.

[FiiO FH7] Flagship 5-Driver (1DD + 4BAs) Hybrid In-Ear Monitors, Knowles DFK + SWFK Composite BA Drivers, 13.6mm Beryllium DD Driver

I'm about 7 months into using these almost every day. They've become my go-to for overall sound quality, and I feel like I'd have to spend a lot of money to improve them a little. The FH7 is a great all-rounder. It plays everything well and doesn't seem to favor a particular style of music the...

Meze 99 Classics Discussion + Impressions Thread

I just added the 99 Classics to the headphone family after deciding I needed something a bit lively and suited to rock and metal. I've owned and enjoyed Grados before, but I was hoping for something with a bit more oomph in the low end. The 99s arrived yesterday along with the new Ghost album...

Finale of the Year-FiiO's Flagship Hybrid IEMs FH9 Is Officially Released!

Audeze and 64 Audio have open back IEMs, so there must be some kind of a market for it. It's not really an option for me, so I went with the FH7. I'm really liking them so far.

[FiiO FH7] Flagship 5-Driver (1DD + 4BAs) Hybrid In-Ear Monitors, Knowles DFK + SWFK Composite BA Drivers, 13.6mm Beryllium DD Driver

Pulled the trigger on the FH7 during the black Friday sale. I'm on day 2 of listening. Just some rando thoughts: I haven't even burned these in and I can already tell that these are my favorite IEMs so far. I've also owned Hifiman RE600, Sennheiser IE 300, Fiio F9 pro, Fiio EX1, and various...

"Soundstage: Big for an iem for sure, but there are iems in the lower price ranges that are a lot bigger......" Which IEMs at this price point or lower do you like for soundstage? I tend to prefer soundstage over other sound qualities....

    HIFIMAN HE-R10 Closed-Back Headphones Discussion & Impressions

Isn't he the guy who posted the Saigon execution image when people were criticizing him here? Or was that someone else and I'm confusing them?

    HIFIMAN HE-R10 Closed-Back Headphones Discussion & Impressions

I'm not going to hate on them for using a design that another company abandoned. If Sony were still making these, that would be different. That said, given the build quality I've had on my two HFM products, I wouldn't feel comfortable buying anything more expensive that their $500 range products.

Was there a reason Sony never went back to that design?

This review made me dig out my Senn 558. Those were my first headphones that weren't just whatever Best Buy had in the store. Always loved the soundstage on these.

Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up

Years ago, one of my first jobs was working in the acquisitions department of a collectibles auction house. My responsibility was to try and get collectors to consign through our company. It's a solid, well-run place to do business with, but it made me feel gross that I wasn't allowed to just...

Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up

I upgraded my system once from the magni/modi stack to the modi multibit/valhalla 2. I seriously think my only other purchase will be a Loki unless something in the chain dies.

I love the sound on these IEMs but damn if the cable hasn't failed on me with two different pairs.

What a long, strange trip it's been -- (Robert Hunter)

Awesome, I've thought for a while there was room for a price-disruptive CD transport. I might have to replace my Onkyo C-05.

FiiO Q1MKII- Native DSD Support, XMOS USB DAC chip, DAC AK4452, 20 hours

Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up

Jason, With all of your product offerings (and possible combinations), have you guys considered some type of a "build your rig" page for the website? Maybe a drag-and-drop visual map (like a process workflow) where people can select generic source component icons (computer, CD player...

FiiO Q1MKII- Native DSD Support, XMOS USB DAC chip, DAC AK4452, 20 hours

I have the F9 and the Q1mkII. I've spent time with both the balanced and regular cable, and I honestly can't tell a discernible difference between the two. To me, the balanced output was more of an "icing on the cake" feature; it will be great with harder-to-drive headphones (where people tend...

Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up

I never really thought of Schiit as having an old design. Yeah, most AV equipment you see at places like Best Buy is black and shiny, but stuff like Macbooks, HTC phones, and other devices have brushed silver.

Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up

I probably started reading CNET's reviews around 2012 or so. I only ever remember Steve crapping on one piece of equipment and that was the Pono player. Actually, I only found out about Schiit because of Steve's reviews. I don't live in an area where there are brick and mortar stores selling...
