the Fiio FH5S is an awesome IEM. The tuning is in between vivid realism and an engaging signature.
They were one of the reasons that I decided to let my Utopia go as I found that I generally preferred the FH5S tonal presentation (Utopia can have a touch of glare and the Fiio had a more present top end that added “air” to the room). Also the Be driver in the FH5S extended into the low-end as clearly as the Utopia with more presence. Not too mention the IEM was more comfy, and a fraction of the price.
Of course the Utopia was ahead in total technical ability but it wasn't ahead in total enjoyment.
If the FH9 is an improvement it would push it into top-their performance imo.

The FH9 features a semi-open acoustic design incorporatingFiiO's patented system of balanced pressure relief between thefront and rear cavities. The result is more natural sound, andmore comfortable listening in longer sessions due to greatlyminimized pressure on your eardrums when listening.Guess like the FH5. What is the purpose of a semi acoustic IEM when isolation and no sound leak is one of the main objectives?
Best regards

Audeze and 64 Audio have open back IEMs, so there must be some kind of a market for it. It's not really an option for me, so I went with the FH7. I'm really liking them so far.

Greetings . FIIO M15 + FIIO FH9, it is a combination of exquisite sound, extraordinary volume, robust bass and clear treble, very comfortable to wear in the ears, I am enjoying it a lot, and I totally recommend it.
