I have exactly same problem... device once froze, after a reset thing is pausing songs all the time, even when locked. This tend to happen every time to I move a device, so seems to be a problem with hardware not a software update...   It doesn't sound good that you have to send device to...

What I had to do is turn off pci express link state power management in advanced settings of power management. Now works great.

So both devices seem to be similar. Multipurpose USB DAC and headphone amp..    It is hard for me to figure out which one is better.   I am wondering which one is more reliable and most important, which one will be more compatible with various PCs and other devices...    Maybe somebody...

When I check the price Silver Dragon V3 for Z7, Kimber Kable seems to be a bargain 

  So only Kimber cable can make them better? Do you think some other alternatives will appear? I just received Z7, If I compare them with my Denon AH-D600 the sound is muffled.... However Denons have been used for more than 500h so I should see how they will behave after a week... 

I don't think that was the case... Usually if the box was open (return etc.) they put the product in "warehouse deals" category  with short description of the packaging... I wouldn't be surprised if somebody in the warehouse of amazon was "testing" them without permission     BTW if you look...

Hey, I was wondering if anyone knows when replacement pads for Audio-Technica ATH-MSR7 will be released? I think that this would be a perfect upgrade considering that shape of headphones is almost exactly the same.
