Here's the reference document from Smyth about the TCP server: A16-IP-command-server-May-2020-1.pdf There are two tables. One is a complete set of all the buttons on the IR remote. The other table is where the value add comes in: Direct input source selection User A and User B Preset selection...

Most of what you are asking is not possible directly (only through the IR commands), and certainly not mirroring the screen. Read through the TCP Command document - only commands that are listed there are possible. Which is basically an app version of the IR remote plus better input & preset...

Just in case - make sure you disable TCP Slave in the network settings. In my testing it causes communication to become a lot slower, because it can't process a new command until it's done ACKing an existing command, or while it is transmitting its TCP Slave "heartbeat" status line (every 1...

I do not think the hardware inside the A16 is at all capable of this. The TCP server is an ASCII level text interface with about a 500ms latency per command.

Like i mentioned, only if Smyth would implement a mechanism in the TCP server that allows us to fetch a screenshot of the screen. Today this is not possible. The TCP server only supports 2-character hex commands and only returns ASCII text, so I have my doubts that it is possible at all to...

Should be possible. or some way to directly pick a volume level.

Actually during HPEQ adjustment (manloud), the TCP interface doesn't even work. That was my initial plan a year orso ago, to make that a better user experience. What I've done in the past is to set up a webcam pointed to the screen and connected to a raspberry pi with go2rtc on it. I can then...

Gentlemen, if I were to publish an app for the A16 that does basically the same as the Centro Control app, but now it's native Android (and possibly IOS too if a lot of you are iphone users) - would you use it? If yes, would you pay $9.98 for it? If not, why not or how much instead? And on...

Ever since i upgraded from 2.05 to 2.12 in December (i did a factory reset) I always have to toggle the Audio Source (e.g. hdmi1 to 2 and back) before I get picture from my shield tv on my LG oled. This was never a problem, it just always worked. I used standby bypass back then and am using it...

I agree. But that's the only explanation I have for the imbalance i had. See previous HPEQ here: https://www.head-fi.org/threads/smyth-research-realiser-a16.807459/page-849#post-16635525 Weird. Might have made an error there. My manLOUD process is basically: Select my headphones Select one of...

Actually I think it's fixed. I have explicitly disabled HT and now the imbalance isn't as strong. I still have to adjust balance for many individual subbands but this new HPEQ looks a lot more balanced to me, as opposed to a previous one where L was nearly flat and R was even worse than this

Ok, I don't see it. If you start a manLOUD and you are on Band 1, there is no way I can adjust gain separately for L and R. Only on bands 2 and up the HPA and HPB volume buttons function to adjusr L and R gain individually. Are you really sure you are able to adjust Band 1 separately? I can...

Is there any way to adjust the first bands on a manLOUD (the two yellow bars) individually for the L and R channel? I can adjust the gain but only for L+R together. Am I missing something? An unlock toggle somewhere perhaps?

I've made this PRIR just now, but what atmos room config is this? I'm having a hard time finding the correct room for this L,R,SW,C,Ls,Lw,Lb,Lss,Rss,Rb,Rw,Rs setup or how to map it to an atmos speaker preset.

I saw mentioned that a HPEQ should first be used so that the subband noise sounds centered. I've done just that on the BBC room but I'm getting quite the strange EQ result. Is this common? Is there some general L/R balance setting i should change? Or should I have my ears or headphones checked?

    Smyth Research Realiser A16

OK, I see what you're saying. Now how would I correctly measure its effectiveness if it's just a stereo PRIR? Use the headtracker and turn my head so that the stereo speakers are behind me?

Technically the Empyrean is an open back :) I could try switching to the velour pads but that seems like a stretch for it to make any difference. The only alternatives I have here are the Meze 99 Classics and Ultrasone HFI-780 which are both closed. Would those be better choices? I sure hope...

I haven't done anything with speakers yet. But are you referring to a manSPK HPEQ, or doing a full async PRIR, e.g. build a listening room by recording my speakers at an angle?

I've had my A16 for a few months now which I only use for movies , and here are my observations with it: - I have a Meze Empyrean connected to it. For spatiality, I get the sense that it sound isn't directly in front of me for the surround speakers, and it is helped a bit by the head tracker...

FiiO’s Upgraded Bluetooth Amplifier BTR1K: Qualcomm QCC 3005 BT chip, BT 5.0 and aptX /aptX LL/AAC supported, RGB light, NFC pairing, Type C and USB DAC

I've heard this same (clicky/whiny/static) noise floor on every AptX receiver (or switchable receiver/transmitter) I have, which includes several from Avantree, a Sound Blaster E5, and the Fiio BTR1. It is more or less audible depending on what heaphones I use but with my Classic 99s (103dB...

FiiO’s Upgraded Bluetooth Amplifier BTR1K: Qualcomm QCC 3005 BT chip, BT 5.0 and aptX /aptX LL/AAC supported, RGB light, NFC pairing, Type C and USB DAC

You can't state in your review that "Although my method might not be the most precise, I can confidently say that the latency is over 200ms." and not be aware of the fact that you need aptx-LL connectivity to get the latency down to the 40ms range. I feel it's a bit misleading to any readers...

So this Ebay cable is actually really nice. Plugs are a bit shorter but they're fine. QC might not be great, one of them is just a bit off instead of straight, but all in all good stuff considering the price. Feeling kinda sorry for having to cut it up (I intend to shorten it so it attaches to a...

I found https://www.ebay.com/itm/282361469812 and waiting for these to arrive to give them a go. They are a bit shorter but still long enough it seems and the price is worth the risk; Meze plugs or cables are €20 plus €17 shipping for me.

    Sennheiser IE80's Impressions Thread

Does anyone know if the nozzles for the tips on the IE80s are the same as on the IE4, CX 2xx/300 and MM 30/40s? I've found a custom tip manufacturer here but they don't explicitly list IE80s as compatible.
