HiFiMAN HM650 Portable Music Player Impressions Thread
Sound-wise I really hated the standard amp card. Haven't tried any other card since the software is the worst and less reliable piece of code ever, which is why my HM650 has been inside its box for the past 4 years.- miguelpp

Help! Broken Westone 3's : can these be repaired?
Thanks. Submitted a message through their contact form this morning. Let us wait n see That would actually be great... for an out-of-warranty product, I would probably feel happy with that resolution. Problem here is they are not selling the 3's for quite some time, I believe. So they would...- miguelpp

Help! Broken Westone 3's : can these be repaired?
Hi guys, So... this just happened: As I was getting ready to replace the tips, one of them seems to have glued to the monitor, and it broke it when I attempted to pull it harder. Do you know if there is something I can do? Perhaps if the shell is replaceable and where I could purchase it...- miguelpp

Cayin N3 Hi-Res DAP with AKM4490 DAC, apt-X Bluetooth, and Line, USB & Coax Out for $150
Thank you for the clarification! I will try a usb connection to Hugo, then. If I may ask another thing: when I connect N3 as a Bluetooth digital source to my car radio, I can play all PCM files (tested up to 24/192) but the DSD ones fail with N3 displaying something like "play failed. File type...- miguelpp

Cayin N3 Hi-Res DAP with AKM4490 DAC, apt-X Bluetooth, and Line, USB & Coax Out for $150
DSD128 signal can be carried through coax, I believe. But I guess this is limited by your max 24/192 PCM output, right? If that’s the case, I’ll return your cable and buy a usb one from another brand. According to your link, that should work.- miguelpp

Cayin N3 Hi-Res DAP with AKM4490 DAC, apt-X Bluetooth, and Line, USB & Coax Out for $150
Hi Guys, Sorry if this was already discussed (couldn't find it), but I'm pairing my N3 with a Chord Hugo 2 using Cayin's own usb-c to coaxial cable. PCM files seem to be recognized as expected (e.g., 24/192 is identified by Hugo), but DSD files are playing with the colour that matches 88.2 or...- miguelpp

are you running the latest firmware? Check your player for your current version and compare it to the one available at their site. There were crashes while browsing through your album list, and those were fixed.- miguelpp

I have now decided to rename the firmware file to "update.zip" (customer service had told me not to rename the file, but it seems they had named it wrong....) and it loaded! Guys, I posted on Hifiman's FB and they sent me an email with a beta firmware a few hours after. I was told not to share it until they release it. I am now telling you this as I have been trying to load the FW for more than one week, and they now talk about two different player versions...- miguelpp

I heard that one over a month ago: "We will do our best to recover the bugs. Maybe you could try our HM901S, please wait for a while, it will be released some time later, not sure yet." I did find it strange when you posted their reply above: "This one is noted bug to us, that is under the same artist if you search albums, and albums are more than 3, it tends to crash and reboot. We will improve on this aspect for future design." It seems they agree a bug has been found, but...- miguelpp
