    Hifiman HE1000 Planar Dynamic Headphone

I can speak only for He1000 V2 original as I havent heard HE1000 Stealth version but can confirm this impression. He1000 V2 OG have excellent synergy with iBasso DX300 MAX (AK4499 based DAC with powerful amp section). Great bass/subbass, fantastic layering with holographic soundstage. Smooth...

    Audeze LCD-5 Review, Measurements, Interview

What about buying two LCD5s (to stay with the thread) and listening some favourite romantic songs simultaneously with a bottle of fine wine as a prelude to a nice evening spent together ? ☺

    Audeze LCD-5 Review, Measurements, Interview

On the positive notes 1) a lot of audiophiles around the world (including me) have waited several YEARS for light weighted flagship Audeze headphones with supposedly more balanced overall tonality. Now waiting for few weeks more seems like a bargain. 2) Although it is still a very expensive...

    Sennheiser HD650 & Massdrop HD6XX Impressions Thread

Hi, my first post in this generous thread. Another happy and proud owner of the legendary HD650 headphones here. I have to say these headphones absolutely deserve all the accolades and are still, rightfully - after all these years- a true reference headphones in every sense of the word. When...

Hugo TT 2 by Chord Electronics - The Official Thread

+1 on Dynaudio speakers. I have Focus 110A active speakers and I can confirm its a great pairing with Chord Dave and it was great pairing with Lumin A1 player as well. (my previous DAC/network player). I bet 110A would sound great with TT2 as well. I dont have experience with newer Dynaudio...

    CHORD ELECTRONICS DAVE

No, I havent heard TT2+Hms yet. I just wanted to say that Dave+ Pm1 combo should have "musicality" covered for days and years. And in my opinion Dave with its excellent transient speed, neutrality, holographic 3D presentation, dynamics and practically nonexistent digital or whatever distortion...

    CHORD ELECTRONICS DAVE

Oppo Pm1 were one of the most musical headphones I have heard by themselves. I was listening Pm1 with Oppo Ha-1 (neutral Dac/amp) and it was magical pairing. IMHO transparency, neutrality and holographic presentation of Dave would bring the best from Pm1 as it is an efficient and warm/musical...

    CHORD ELECTRONICS DAVE

So you are trying to say that - to avoid thermal cycling (which is supposedly disserviceable to electronic devices like Dave) it is much better to choose standby mode instead of complete shutdown ? I'll admit I am not an expert here but common sense would suggest that electronics should be...

    CHORD ELECTRONICS DAVE

Me too. I don't perceive sonic benefits either. So I always switch my audio devices off. But my set up is quite simple - Dave + active speakers/headphones.

And it is also truth vice versa: HP and cables and power supply sound good because they are expensive. :-)

    CHORD ELECTRONICS DAVE

Thank you for your replies ! I hoped some cables with proper adapters could do the job. DX90 with my stored audio files and user friendly control would be an ideal option as a transport at late evening listening.

    CHORD ELECTRONICS DAVE

Couple of weeks with DAVE and I have to say I´m really impressed with this DAC/amp/preamp. I feel that all superlatives have already been mentioned but still I would like to express it definitely met my high expectations based on head fi and other online forums. What I like most on DAVE is...

    Hifiman HE1000-SE

If anybody is thinking about purchasing an expensive cable I´m giving two simple advices how to save some money: 1) Get a proper daily regime. Enough rest/sleep, enough water intake etc. 2) Clean your ears properly before listening You may find out it brings similar benefits as some fancy...

    Hifiman HE-6SE and HE-1000SE announcement-

I have heard HE-6 with Oppo Ha-1 and in my opinion Ha-1 was able to drive He6 without any problems. As far as I know it can push 3.5 W into 32 Ohm so it is quite powerful. However I havent heard He6 with other amps so I have no other point of reference.

    Hifiman HE1000-SE

Thank you for your information ! I was particularly curious as Dave is currently my targeted DAC/amp. Very interesting findings, which seems to be consistent with what others have said.

    Hifiman HE1000-SE

Would you say He1000 SE + DAVE is as "heavenly combination" as HEK v2 + DAVE used to be ?
  18. marhol

    Hifiman HE1000-SE

Certainly. Hifiman headphones are usually very good (regardless of price) concerning driver imbalances but one can never be 100% sure... Assuming you are living in Germany - EU there is a possibility to send these headphones to Sonarworks for proper evaluation(if you eventually buy them)...

    Hifiman Ananda

HE1000 frequency range from https://diyaudioheaven.wordpress.com/headphones/measurements/hifiman/12890-2/ graph is definitely V2 not V1. I agree that V1 vs V2 are not particularly different regarding FR and overall tonality. I would say HEK v1 FR is nearly the same as HEK v2. HEK v1 FR is...

    Hifiman HE1000-SE

Thank you for your feedback. Yes synergy (DAC/amp, cables, power supply etc.) is very important when we assess sound of one component. I do not have problems with stock cable and thats why I havent tried other options yet. I´m glad people report about their experience with various stuff like...

    Hifiman HE1000-SE

OK, I get it, HE1000 SE is the smoother sounding headphone. I was particularly wondering about sibilance which is one of my minor issues with HEK v2 taking into account certain recordings and certain DAC/amp combinations. As far as I know male sibilance is mainly centered around 3-7 kHz and...

    Hifiman HE1000-SE

How would you guys compare HE-1000 SE with HEK v2 (or HEK v1) in regard to sibilance and treble smoothness ? Would you say HEK SE is less sibilant/ more forgiving of lesser recordings or are they more or less on the same level of "forgiveness" in this area ? Thanks.

    Hifiman HE1000-SE

Besides already mentioned FR curve, I´ve seen also FR curve from HEK SE review here: https://www.samma3a.com/tech/en/product-reviews/hifiman-he1000se-headphones-review/ Although other FR curves from Hifiman family are not visible perfectly (for comparison purposes) it seems HEK SE generally...
