The FiiO E10K--all-new DAC and amp stages

There are other places you can look, but I found this to be a good place to start. http://www.mouser.com/Electromechanical/Knobs-Dials/_/N-5g22?P=1yzrp3b

The FiiO E10K--all-new DAC and amp stages

I've had my e10k since 2014 (early revision without the dial off feature), but I'm getting to the point where the channel imbalance at low volume levels, between 0-2 for me, is starting to get to me because I tend to listen at ~ 1. Is there anyway to fix this without reducing the volume in my OS?

"Open Alpha" T50 3D printed headphone project from MrSpeakers

If you don't feel like making sure the plug openings on each cup fit a 3.5mm or 2.5mm jack, then you can just have your cable end in one of those connections. Both -/+ left would combine into 1 and same for the right.

I'm not sure how a 4-pin is "standard" and all I'm saying is that you can use 3-pins in the cups and if you really want your 4-pin you can combine your cables to end in one. This will keep it within your so called "standard" and work with those types of devices. Or you could just keep them as...

All you really need are 3-pin mini xlr connectors because it seems that only 2 of the 4 seem to be used. You can however use a 3rd for extra grounding on each side. These can be picked up for cheap on ebay and in fact that's what I did.

If you wanted to get it smooth without a lot of sanding you could try the acetone route if you used abs, but be careful as it's highly flammable.

I did end up getting more comfortable pads for the stock MK3, but that is as much as I've done. One thing I'd really like to do is make it into a balanced mini xlr setup. The problem is that I my listening skills are quite lacking and I would be blindly guessing as to what I did or how to fix...

Yeah, modding and that is fun, but I cannot afford to mod these with the possibility of making them worse or just completely ruining them... Trust me, I'd like to try, but they are my best pair of heaphones that I own.

I'm curious as to how many of you actually use testing equipment and try to reproduce your tests as accurately as possible while trying out different things. This is not supposed to be a negative comment by any means, but it just seems strange that so many people who are trying to get better...

When you say stock cable are you referring to the the cables inside the cups that connected the pcb or are you referring to the actual 3.5mm cable? I don't see an issue with using the original, but I'm new to this myself.

    Fostex new RP headphones - T50RPmk3, T40RPmk3 and T20RPmk3

I just received my Alcantara pads and it definitely helps with comfort, but I'm curious what it does to the sound of the T50RP MK3's. I'm still new to this and probably cannot hear as well as some.

    Fostex new RP headphones - T50RPmk3, T40RPmk3 and T20RPmk3

I was hoping there would be some more definitive proof as to what the pads did to the sound of the MK3's rather than something subjective.

    Fostex new RP headphones - T50RPmk3, T40RPmk3 and T20RPmk3

Does anyone have some measurements of these with the normal pads and then with an assortment of other pads to see what each one does to the sound?

The FiiO E10K--all-new DAC and amp stages

This is not always the case as my computer still supplies power to the usb ports even when off.   On a side note, I wonder what they may have changed besides adding the off switch.

    Mr Speakers Ether

I'm curious about the comfort of these because I seem to have issues with all of the headphones I use. Either my ear touches part of the inside area by the driver, something around the outside, whether it be clamping force or otherwise, bothers the temporomandibular joint area and under the ear...

Don't go by pictures, use a ruler and measure it. If it's not the size FiiO's website says it is, then you might want to look into it further.

The FiiO E10K--all-new DAC and amp stages

Yeah, I've turned down my OS volume in order to turn up the knob on my e10k. I haven't noticed any imbalance at 1 and I sometimes go between 1-2. If you were to have some imbalance issues it would most likely turn up @ < 1 on the knob. Another thing to note that I've liked about having an...

The FiiO E10K--all-new DAC and amp stages

I already told you about it because the XPT100, HM5 etc. are the exact same models just rebranded. Now, it depends on what other DAC's you were looking at, but considering I don't own any other ones I can't help you with that part.

The FiiO E10K--all-new DAC and amp stages

I have the XPT 100 which is essentially the same thing and it is quite loud with it just turned to 1 on low gain. As for switching between, the headphones and the line out are completely separate so that you can have them plugged in at the same time.

Mac OS X Music Players - alternatives to iTunes

So, I take it you want to exclude certain folders i.e. MP3 from view or am I missing something? I'm more or less just curious so that I am informed. I would really like to see a player similar or better than foobar, but it seems like the majority of the audience is content with these lack luster...

Mac OS X Music Players - alternatives to iTunes

I agree that the previous comment wasn't very helpful and would like to see people be more understanding that not everyone has the same preference. I for one hate pretty much all the audio players I've tried on a Mac. Sound quality isn't an issue, but rather a lack in options...

Have you tried updating your USB 3.0 drivers? I had similar blue screen issues on an older machine when I used the USB 3.0 ports until I updated the motherboard drivers for USB 3.0.

Theoretically you should be able to use it with an OTG cable, but like Hammy said, you should use an external battery with it because it will mostly likely drain your phone fast. So, get an OTG Y cable and plug the one into the phone and the other into an external USB battery.

Mac OS X Music Players - alternatives to iTunes

I did a quick skim through the pages and wanted to know if there was a music player that was like foobar where I could customize the way it looks and one that has a spectrogram, oh and of course, plays FLAC?
