I think than must be a very early unit as chord said they hard wired all usb connectors down to their boards a few week after the start of Hugo production then they changed the usb connector type entirely a few months later.

    Chord Electronics 2Qute DAC announced

I think Chord may have come out with a serious benefit to the Hugo TT having batteries it's simply that in home systems sometimes your headphone cable is just not long enough and being able to just pick up the TT and move it to the other end of the room or the balcony or by the pool is not such...

Look in the box you should find an OTG type that will work. If you have lost it ask chords distributor for a replacement if youd prefer an aftermarket type make sure it's OTG too.

Matt at chord told me that a soldered wire top strap was implemented on the connectors after the first few weeks of production and no failures of the first type of usb connector have been noted since. Thousands of Hugo's were produced with the strap. However The postings photos show no soldered...

The Chord Hugo TT is announced.

HUGO dac technology is the most sophisticated on the market. It's way better than DACs at ten times the price many of which are crude impimentations of the application notes of industry standard dac chips. HUGO and HUGO TT should not be compared to these simple crude designs.

It might be possible for the guys at chord to add too, but not take away anything from Hugo. A separate carrier unit would not allow for this but a larger heavier Aluminium Case with more space for say, larger connectors even XLRs and batteries or even super capacitor back up to do this they'd...

It Could be that the cable is not fully pushed in. This is the usual reason for higher frequency data transfer to fail. It really takes a strong push before it clicks fully home.

Chord Hugo - The PORTABLE discussion thread

In my opinion you seem to have an agenda you've applied over the last ten months to put Hugo down in anyway you can!... I really do wonder why?

In an earlier posting, I think Rob Watts said Hugo has around 5 micro volts of noise but a big 5volts output swing whereas the A and K has a 3.5 microvolts of noise but only a 1.5 volt output swing. So if it's a problem. I think he said to use a output Resistor with very high sensitivity IEMs.

Regarding the handle can you please list the other useless features that Hugo has. You guys are obviously very knowledgable about all aspects of the design perhaps you can list everything you've designed I guess they didn't have handles either. The tiny handle is for your thumb by the way if you...

No harm should come to Hugo or speakers. Overdriving Hugo's amp will just cause a safety trip circuit to operate. This will reset when the output level has been reduced.

The batteries size determind the overall unit size not the number of inputs

    Chord Hugo

I think it is wrong to say that Hugo has been tuned or tweaked in any way it's just been developed to decode any music stream in the best way possible. So that it gives an honest and accurate rendition of the original recording.

No it's not necessary because Hugo only senses that the USB power is there this is done at a very high impeadance so the signal cannot be corrupting in any way.

No I think that is not true the fewer a battery cycles the safer it is providing it is not being kept at a voltage below 4.2 volts the batteries will be okay

    Chord Hugo

In my opinion I don't think the above comment is not strictly true, If the batteries are held at a voltage higher than 4.2 volts it would be the case but chord appear to have sophisticated charging circuitry built into Hugo that ensures the batteries never exceed 4.2 volts and keeping Hugo's...
